Sure. I like these trades, but you could deepen the team better by spending to the cap more. Perhaps by getting someone who can actaully stop pucks?

I personally think Pens need to add a 2nd to made Chabot-Karlsson fair. I also wonder if Kleven-Karlsson would work.

I’d keep Korpi and give him another chance to bounce back. His buyout is kinda cringe in year 3

Ya I like the Dumoulin pick up for next season and then the season after you just go up to Kleven and be like your name is Tyler Methot now.

Dumoulin is a solid vet with really good defensive analytics. Cant believe we didn’t try and pick up Dumoulin and Rodrigues for a combined 7 mill last summer. Both are excellent defensively

I think it’s more about getting good picks . Chychrun isn’t a good fit here . Every game it becomes more clear.

A late 1st this year but we probably get a mid to early 2nd next year in a deeper draft

0 chance the penguins are retaining on EK.
Especially a year after acquiring him and it costing a 1st round pick to get him.

You somehow think they are in some desperate need to trade him. They aren't.

If Dubas can get younger with Chabot or Norris even without adding cap he will do that

only in your head is that how that works.

Chabot isn't even worth 8 mil per. Which is one of the reasons you want to move him.
They are not taking on that contact and they are not retaining on EK to do that.

I'm sorry you don't get that, but that's how it is.
They will keep EK next year is the most likely outcome unless there is a really good offer for him.
Not some nonsense of, they will trade him to "get younger".
The penguins could care less about EK age. Hell he's still 3 years younger than Letang.

Chabot is very valuable but no Ottawa has way toooooooo many puck moving Dmen .

One of the reason they’ve struggled . They all move the puck but no one can defend

Chabot plays like a standard 2LD on an 8 mil contract.
They gave him 1LD money which he is not.

If this is the excuse for moving him, it's laughable considering the guy you are moving him for is a puck moving defenseman who doesn't play defense well.

So again, PIT isn't retaining on that contract.
They will be more than happy to keep EK. His play isn't horribly bad. If anything it's about what you should expect for a guy who has to split opportunities with Letang.
If he was "the guy" on a team his numbers would be far better.
It's the biggest problem with having 2 really good defensemen on the same team. Had the same problem when it was him and Burns.
It's why teams should not load up on high price puck moving defensemen.
But once they go that route, it is what it is. Don't think they are going to admit failure on it after 1 season. Especially when his pairing isn't the real problem on the team.

Chabot is what he is . A 50pt / 82 games Dman who creates offence and in transition. He’s not very good defensively but he’s also been constantly paired with bad defensive partners . He’s also not like a total liability. He would be like 35-40 percentile among league wide Dman which is not a total liability .

He can also easily play 22+ mins a night constantly .

I honestly have to give props 👏 to you & SENs fans in general - despite repeated epic fails, you somehow think next year will be different .
Don’t see how Chycrun is worth near that amount or why Flyers (or any team) would pay that for one year?bdude is not re signing in Ottawa and is a pending UFA next year; he’ll be flipped in off season or at TDL for pick or prospect (much less than SENs paid for him)

Goalie blaming is a cop out for bad teams. I don't think Korpisalo has been great, it's been bad. But with how that team played in front of all their goalies from November to March, no one's stopping pucks.
In the last 2 weeks, their defensive play has been miles better and shocker, the goalies and numbers look good. There's so much nuance that goes into how goalies play based on what's going on in front of them. If they know they have bad coverage/system in front of them, it can mess with their game.

Im not willing to write off Korpisalo yet based what how I saw this team perform on the ice. Talbot looked horrible here... Goes to the kings, has a 2.5gaa. Korpisalo went from a 3.15 gaa in Columbus to 2.15 on kings. Goes to sens, almost worst in the league. Coincidence? No chance.

Chill out bro, a little chirping should be expected. You (SENs fans) can’t go around saying “our top 6 is better than the Leafs” or “ this team will go farther in playoffs than Leafs” and not expect some comments when you’re last place in the division. Unreasonable trade valuations of your players (last place team) doesn’t help either 🤷🏻.
