As a Ducks fan, I'd say "no" to the deal for Z. We either need picks now, but ideally young players with high-end upside. I personally don't see Z going to MTL without Reinbacher+ coming back the other way.

Picks in 2026 mean nothing as we'll be looking to be more competitive then and not drafting more prospects.

We've been consistent: Reinbacher plus the Montreal 2025 second, or Reinbacher plus the Montreal 2024 first. This is too many draft picks and the wrong prospect, so I don't think that Montreal makes this offer. It's wrong for a team that is behind us in the rebuild stage.

Think he meant replace Reinbacher with the 1st.

Yep.

That would work, too, but my pal Giggy is right -- I meant Reinbacher plus the Montreal 2025 second (which was his original idea), or Beck/Mesar with the Montreal 2024 first.

leafs decline. we don't want to trade a 4th for a bad defender. 90 giveaways last year have to be a record. Also not physical enough. Leafs aren't trading for any more defenders. well sign them in the offseason

Edmonton declines. They are not in the business of taking cap dumps.
