Why would he sign in Montreal but not Vancouver?

And why would the Canucks take on a cap dump if they trade him while getting less value than they gave up?

Canucks give up Hronek for less than they paid despite the fact he's having a career year. Where is the logic behind that? (Hint, there isn't any, Allvin laughs and hangs up after not even considering that offer)

I'd be suspicious -- VERY suspicious -- of any "report" that a player, especially one of accomplishment, would not want to live and play hockey in Vancouver. The city is wonderful and the team is obviously on the upswing and will be serious contenders for the next several seasons.

This especially. The offer isn't great, and with Dvorak coming back it's terrible and makes no sense for Van. If they move Hronek, which I give a less than 2% chance, it will be for cap space to sign someone else significant or a return that fits that bill. Cap dumps aren't on the table.

So Hronek leaves VAN for less money to play for a worse team?
