Ducks decline. KK is struggling and at least Vatrano can produce

Canes don't consider a single one of these. Andersen is better than Fleury, why make that deal? Why sign Pesce only to yeet him to Chicago? If they sign him they'll keep him. They didn't just extend Lemieux to dump him in San Jose.

The Anaheim trade is laughable. Vatrano has one year shooting at 13%, scoring at a rate he's never shown he can score at before, and he's suddenly worth one of the most dymanic play driving young centermen in the NHL?

Anaheim wouldn't be trading Frankie Vatrano for a centerman when they have Leo Carlsson, Mason McTavish and possibly Cutter Gauthier there for years and years.

That's right. Frankie has gotten better and better every season that he's been with us. As to "one of the most dynamic play driving young centermen in the NHL":
Kotkaniemi, last three seasons: 214 games, 41 goals, 55 assists, 96 points
Zegras, including this lost season: 200 games, 53 goals, 93 assists, 146 points

IF the canes wouldnt consider moving pesce for what would likely be a top 5 pick you gotta fire the entire front office immediately

Lmao. Both of those CHI trades might be the worst I have ever seen on this website.

Absolutely hilarious!

Andersen is not a need for the Hawks, no chance they give up three mid round picks for him.

The Pesce scenario is totally absurd, first off do you have any idea what signing a guy only to then turnaround and trade him would do to the reputation of the Hurricanes front office and GM, it would kill them in all future negotiations with players. So there is no chance Carolina does that, they either sign and keep him or he walks as a free agent at which point the Hawks could sign him without giving up the incredible overpay you are asking for.

One of the most play driving young centerman in the league but can’t drive himself off the 4th line.

I actually laughed

Why would this be a joke? His GF/60 this year is 2.39, GA/60 is 2.47. Let's compare this to another player, with a GF.60 of 2.32 and a GA/60 of 2.44. Kotkaniemi's got an xGF/60 of 3.16 (this is incredible, anything over 3 is VERY strong) and a xGA of 2.55. The player I was comparing to in the opening has a xGF/60 of 2.62 and a xGA/60 of 2.56.

These two players are Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Nick Suzuki.... there is no world where saying Kotkaniemi is a great play driivng young centerman isn't cold, hard truth. If you just look at point totals instead of actually watching the player, like you apparently clearly do, you'd see this too.

GF and GA/60 doesn't scale linearly though, but okay. It also doesn't account for quality of competition.

QoC is offset here by QoT, Suzuki plays with Caufield, Kotkaniemi's playing with Fast. My point stands, he's still an incredible playdriver.

I find it absolutely hilarious that you’re comparing a dude who played 8 minutes TOI last night with 20 points on the year to a guy currently close to ppg on a rebuilder😭😭

“B-but his xGF puck skills p/60 is better on a wednesday”

KK can’t even drive himself off the 4th line, dude, to the point where your team traded for a coke fiend removed from his prime to play the role KK couldn’t fill. Actually wild.

Caniac, brother, buddy, pal, Kotkaniemi played 8 minutes last night. 9 the game before.

What an incredible, pure, dominant play driver 😭

Aww, sorry, did I spoil your KK narrative so now you're going to try and ignore the fact he was playing with BRENDAN LEMIEUX and acting like it's his fault? Awww, cute. Also, when are we going to talk about how he has more points since the trade deadline as the "coke fiend" you want to try and claim took his job?

Really shows how much Rod values his play driving to average single digit TOI with 0 special teams time stuck on a line with Lemieux. If he were such a dominant play driver he’d be on PP2 over Stefan Noesen 😭😭

You didn’t spoil any narrative. KK sucks. If he was putting up these point totals on any other team you’d be calling him a cap dump.

When Kotkaniemi actually finds a way to be the play driver you claim he is, we can have that conversation. Until then, you can enjoy watching him play a whole 8 minutes a game.

Why would he be in the powerplay over a powerplay spe****t like Noesen? What on earth is that logic? It's the only use for Noesen, and he's good at it, why would you take that away? LMFAO. You really are clueless, have a good day

When you jump to insults, you have nothing left of value to say.

KK has been abysmal defensively. Can’t produce more than 20 points on the year despite being such a dominant play driver, and averages ~10 minutes of TOI since Kuzy’s arrival.

What a franchise altering player 🤭
