Wont lie im surprised BUF needs another Dman
I thought they woulda preferred draft capital they can draft or Trade to make their team better?
I doubt they'd take Armia or that we'd move him as he's 1/21 skaters playing even in the 50% metrics range for Short Handed Situations.(Suzuki's the only other one by him)
They carry the team in that regard while the others are low teen to mid 30% range due to so many Goals Against Short Handed leading the league
Our goalies cant take constantly being walked over while MTL has the man advantage and they shouldnt be facing even 1 shot

I mean they took Benson last year at a similar position so to trade down it would have to be worth it

Why are the Sabres moving back 12 spots for a cap dump and 6/7 dman. The Sabres traded for Byram, their top 4 is set, unless they move a dman, they don't need one. The small sliver of hope that they would massively overpay for Barron, for some reason, is completely gone

Armia is effectively a cap dump, so Barron is nowhere near enough to move from #24 overall to #12 overall, where an entirely different tier of prospect will be available.

You Habs fans should really stop posting ACGMs with Zegras-to-Montreal trades because it's indisputable that you simply don't understand him, as proven by the fact that each such ACGM (including this one) puts him in your top 6 and then underpays for him. Would you trade Cole Caufield for a defense prospect and the 12th overall pick? Of course not. But a major part of the Canadien fanbase doesn't have the emotional maturity or intellectual honesty to accept that Zegras and Caufield are comparable even if Zegras is moved to wing. That's why you're consistently undervaluing him.

i dont think armia is negative value. i read there was interest. and he had another year . not a great cap but he is ELITE pk defensive forward. check out his stats -especially the last couple months.

armia at 3.4x2 isnt great. armia at 1x1.7 is a massive difference.

For like a 4th maybe, not to move up to the top 12 in the draft

Minor -- extremely minor -- point: note that he's at $1.9 here, not $1.7.

By "effectively a cap dump," I meant that he's worth more to Montreal gone than he is to Buffalo coming on board for one season. That's not going to do very much for the Sabres. As @Shibbal18 says, he would be barely worth a fourth even at the full 50% off. Compare him to Sam Carrick, another defensively responsible centerman with faceoff skills at 25% the cost, who was essentially a throw-in in the Henrique deal.

Nope

- Anaheim

Also, please tell me you didn’t think a LD would sweeten the deal for ANA. Just do a smiiidge of research on ANA man, couldn’t have picked a worse position

This isn't the nfl. You are much more likely to land impact players with higher draft picks. If I'm dropping from 12 to 24 (I believe these picks are closer to 8 and 28 btw), something pretty nice better be coming back.

I think in principle you could convince the Sabres to move back in this particular draft. Armia's probably not a fit, but I could see a scenario where the Habs move up from say 24 to like 17 or 18 and then make this swap.

It'd be an overpay but if theres someone at 10-12 that the Habs like its probably worth it.
