Can’t see the habs giving up that calgary pick considering there’s a very good chance they end up as a lottery team next year

If the Flames' pick is top 10, we'll get Florida's pick (unless it is even better, but that's not happening). Let's assume the deal happens on July 2nd: Arizona has Price massive cap hit for a fraction of the cost in 24-25. A bit more pricy in 25-26, but not a catastrophe.

Montreal gains incredible flexibility and acquire a good middle-six winger. I'd do it... Not sure Arizona would.

From July 2nd, Arizona would have to pay 2M for a 10.5M cap hit; something they're bound to love. But that indeed comes with the 7.5M price tag in 25-26...

One thing is certain, if he's not traded this year, not too long after July 2nd 2025, Price will "finish his career" with another team.

why would AZ love to pay 2m for nothing? oh and then pay 7.5m again for losing 23yo bottom 6 C, get 2 guys dont need, the 1st in 2 years isnt enough to offset the rest.

As of now, Arizona is carrying 23.14M worth of such contracts, actually paying out only 15.25M. Three of those contracts vanish this summer. Without those, they could be below the minimum cap hit next year. I am getting my info from an obscure website called capfriendly. You should try it...

damn I would have guessed you are TML fan because they are biggest asses, but way to go MONT. per same site AZ has as of now 45m in contracts and 42m in cap space for next year. With 6 RFAs to sign - prolly 16-20m total - Ill do the math for you - that is 61 - 65m and then still have 5 roster slots to fill.

I didn't say they would take on new ****ty contracts, I just said that you were off base pretending they'd never do. And as far as asses come, I was polite, and you are a rude... well let's just leave it at that.
