Description

- I think KH will be looking to add scoring in the offseason, and Laine fits the bill as a reclamation project who CBJ may not mind moving away from.
- Kovacevic fits a need for Vancouver, as a RD who is cheap. Klimovich has pedigree and a solid 20yo season in the AHL but has struggled this year.
- I see Reinbacher and Hutson both starting in the AHL unless they absolutely force the hand of KH next pre-season. Similar for Mailloux. If Barron cannot once again establish himself in the NHL out of camp Mailloux may have the inside track.
- Habs draft Cayden Lindstrom 7OA. He is sent back to the WHL

I think it is highly unlikely Lindstrom makes it to 7OA.

CL ain't making it that late in the draft

I'd rather hold off on going after a guy like Laine till the 2025 off season when the Habs should have like 20 million in cap space to spend in free agency.

Strategy should be to accumulate picks and prospects, using them only to move up in a draft and then using that cap space to make a big splash when guys like Ehlers, Buchnevich, Marner, Verhagee, Bennet, etc might be in FA

Laine is a headache this team doesn't need. So many other players to consider ahead of him.

I think the other deals heavily favour the Habs as well.

Hawks easily decline. They wouldn't give up anything for Dvorak. The only way Dvorak becomes a Blackhawk is if Montreal attaches a 2nd to move him.
