I'm shocked they didn't. Actually I thought we already owned the growlers

Same

But when all this was being reported was like surely MLSE would buy em rather than let it crumble

Either way expect them to create an ECHL team in Toronto now question is do they share the AHL arena or do we build...Anotha one

Very interesting here: The Leafs are only 6 points back of Boston with a game in hand... That would matchup, for the 3rd time in a row, with the Tampa Bay Lightning...

1. What are the odds?

2. Would the Leafs rather Tampa or Florida/Boston (Not saying to tank, but them building for a clash with Florida/Boston, would playing Tampa be more benefitting to them so they don't have to play both Florida and Boston)?

Neither no opponent is ideal for them

All 3 of their opponents are difficult matchups

I was listening to Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph on the Leafs game broadcast the other night and they were saying that not having home ice might actually be an advantage. I think 4/5 of the Leafs playoff wins last year came on the road, including when the Leafs broke the 1st round curse. Leafs have been better on the road this year too.
Given how it seems the Leafs are cursed in general (as mentioned in the general NHL thread), it seems like they need to break those curses to move on. If/when the Leafs play the Bruins in the playoffs, the Leafs have to win a Game 7 in Boston.

There was a stat on Twitter for that

Leafs have a 8-5 record in the playoffs on the road vs. a 5-12 home record

More of the Leafs wins have come on the road then home in playoffs under Keefe

It’s ironic that Keefe does worse when he has the option to make adjustments (last change on home ice) than not (on the road)

Keefe has never properly taken advantage of the last change advantage and that has bothered me alot.

If you as a coach can't figure out how to use advantages to put your players in positions to be successful, then what are we even discussing about winning.

It's one thing to expect your best players to elevate their play, but it's equally important to put them in advantageous positions as well.

Panthers are 2-7-1 in their last 10. Almost looks like they realized that if they won the division, they would get home ice so they’re trying to tank to get road ice advantage, even if the Leafs are a stronger matchup than a wild card team.

Obviously, no playoff opponent's an easy out, but considering Toronto's success vs Tampa... Wouldn't they rather play Tampa and let Boston and Florida beat up on each other?

I think the Panthers are getting beat up day in and day out... So, with their playoff position locked up, their players are getting soft...

Look at the Leafs game... They were the ones who got bodied in front/were always getting roughed up/...

Based on what info?
No indication the NHL isn't extremely pleased with his work

0% Bettman is to stubborn to make changes

Unless Parros leaves on his own accord to get a better job elsewhere like Shanahan were stuck with him

Nah, I think its just a rough patch nothing more

Look at WPG lost 6 in a row

They are a team not to take lightly as look how they almost tied a game where we were up by 4 in 20mins

Keefe just dont learn do he

4th line does not work against top lines

Yet once again we leave em out and they get scored on. They work but in very specific situations not that lul

Final nail to the coffin a beachball by Paul

Should have had Jones as the backup and pulled Woll after the third goal as 3 goals on 12 shots = ew

But Keefe seems allergic to it unless he really has to

Woll will one day be a great goalie

But still has a lot of learning to do

And also needs to stop allowing the first shot of the game tears of joy

Hopefully next season he goes back to what we saw before but rn yea its Sammy's net

Over the last 5-6 games that Woll has played, one thing is very clear: Leafs will need a goalie who should challenge Woll for the starters job next season and there's a couple reasons for this. Injury history should be a major factor but another reason is that Woll is a young player learning the ups and downs of winning and losing in the best league in the world.

Will probably need a 3rd goalie too if Hildeby is not going to be an Injury fill-in.
