Enlighten me please - is it that you value Neighbours too much or is it that you don't value Matheson.

in other word - would you be interested in him, but not willing to pay that price, or you don't want him at all?

I dont think matheson has the value to get neighbours much less get him and move up in the draft . If youre trading matheson to them already, I also dont think Harris would hold a ton of value either as he would be redundant + either he or perunovich would probably be lost on waivers as a result

Neighbors is, along with Thomas, one of the few forwards the blues will refuse to move. He seems to have a lot more potential than previously shown and is exactly the kind of player we needed him to be.

Matheson isn’t exactly young and our defense is already a bunch of dinosaurs as it is.

Why would the rebuilding/retooling blues target a 30 year old defensemen? And why would we trade our young 25 goal scoring winger that can play for us for 6-8 years for someone who will be on the decline of their career? And why would we drop down in the draft if we are trying to accumulate young assets?

I saw people trading for Kyrou - but I figured you would not get rid of your second best scorer signed longterm - so I went for Neighbours, who admittedly, I do not know much about.

So other question: What would you offer for Matheson if you were trading for him?

Take out neighbours and just straight up trade Matheson for their first, no swapping. We could then package the Winnipeg and St Louis 1sts to move into top 10 hopefully.

We wouldn't trade for Matheson. We already have Krug and Leddy on the left side. Adding another older defensemen at 4.875 mil is a bad use of cap space. I think the blues would be interested in a young top 4 LHD but doubt those are available.

Yeah STL wouldn't do that. Plenty of other options to upgrade their LHD with, without shipping off their 21 year old stud winger.

I could see a package centered around Neighbours or Kyrou - with compensating picks.

Also - with the 5th to 7th OVR pick - if trading Guhle for one of Kyrou or Neighbours, we can draft one of the great LHD available (Dickinson Buium Silayev) to replace him while ALSO acquiring a top 6 player.

Ex: if Celebrini, Demidov, Catton, Eiserman and Lindstrom are gone when it's the hab's turn to pick - It could make sense to use Guhle to acquire the missing piece in the top 6 and use our pick to draft the BPA - which will likely be a Dman.

Heh. You are not getting Kyrou, Neighbours or the Blues' 24 1st if it's top 10. And to think you could get Kyrou or Neighbours AND that 1st... bruh. The Blues would not be adding anything if it's Kyrou, that's just silliness. And the Blues would rather have Dickinson than Guhle anyway.

Compensating picks could go anywhich way - I think on a Kyrou trade, MTL might have to add.

On a Neighbours trade - STL may have to add a little.

IMO I think Guhle is close to Kyrou but value a bit less.

But seriously, man, you can almost certainly forget Neighbours. He's not available. They love that kid like cake. And not some stupid store cake. I'm talking mom's devil's food layer cake with vanilla frosting cake. That's how much they love him.
