Casey is gonna cost 6.5-7 AAV.
Would the Avs pay Rantanen 10+ on his next deal or do you think he gets moved?

Unless he gets to 20 to 25 goals or absolutely goes off in the playoffs anything over $6M would be foolish. Compher has similar production and is better defensively and he got $5.1M.

I love Drouin, but I think they have to prioritize keeping Manson (or Walker) instead of Drouin. Wingers are much easier to find than defensemen, especially right-shot D that fit Colorado’s style. The signed Drouin & Rodrigues out of the bargain bin each of the last two years. Manson cost them a 2nd + prospect and Walker cost a 1st.

1. We don’t trade with Detroit.
2. Former Redwing players are awful on the Avs team. (You may point to that 4th line center who scored a couple of goals on our last cup run but remember he was really bad up until the Blues series. )
3. Manson is really important because he is the snarl on d and he completes Sammy G. Also he is quite good.

Yes. He is worth every penny. When you have a top 10 player you gladly pay them. Particularly when he makes your top 3 player better.

I imagine if Landy comes back Drouin is redundant in every sense of the word. I’d love to have him back but there are only so many wing positions.
Frankly I don’t think the front office is planning on Landy returning. I think they will put a roster together based upon him being on LTIR and then ship people out if they need to.
