Interesting at least. I just don't think I'd feel comfortable moving Hofer. It's so hard to fully develop young very good goaltenders, and he's well on his way to the right track here. We at least have Zherenko who has been pretty decent in the AHL the past couple of seasons to soften that blow.

Not a statement of not liking value, moreso a caution of moving on from a guy who has already made such a big impact at a position that's extremely volatile.

Far rather have Jake Allen than pay for trying to fix Elvis

Retaining that much for that long is going to be more than a little troublesome for the Jackets. I'm kind of waffling back and forth as to whether I'd call it okay or not. It's at least a fair attempt at compensation for the retention, so there's that.

Devils likely pass on both

Yeah I see no chance the blues trade both of their goalies. Hofer is the one for the future and he's doing well. Don't think we will trade Binnington this offseason. Maybe in a year or 2 when Hofer gets more established
