I'm sorry but just the thought of Joe Veleno signing an offer sheet makes me laugh. 😁

I think he's fine as a 4C.

Pretty easy no.

Take out Ullmark I’d still pass.

Seriously. Turcotte is a bust, AK is a problem child, and meh picks. Just junk.

You have a better chance of winning super lotto than the Rangers trading Mika.

Irrespective of trade value, I think I’d rather the Rangers cease to exist than to trade with the LA Kings. 2014 was not forgotten.

Didn't Ullmark block a trade to the West Coast already? That aside, the trade is utterly horrific for Boston. Ullmark would play out the season and leave in UFA long before Boston makes that deal..

Turcotte is hitting that make-or-break age, and from what little I can see he hasn't shown that he is going to make the leap to top-6 NHLer. The potential is still there, but at this point it seems like a bit of a long shot.

Meanwhile, the Bruins are giving up the the more valuable roster pieces in the trade for nothing but longshots of filling in their own roster needs. I think they can do better for Ullmark, but if they can't then at the very least they should not take back contracts to maximize cap space, and they shouldn't need to add sweeteners like Brazeau to move Ullmark.

Kempe and the first for Zibanejad is an even worse idea for the Kings than acquiring Pierre-Luc DuBois. Since January 1, Moore -- Danault -- Arvidsson/Fiala has been our most productive and consistent line. That's right, 2023, not 2024. There's absolutely no sense in breaking up that line, losing Adrian Kempe, and moving Danault out of center to add a player we don't need.

Re-signing Viktor Arvidsson and trading for Linus Ullmark if we lose Matt Roy to free agency is an excellent (and, in my mind, the best) strategy. That package is akin to the Jordan Harris -- Jesse Ylonen and Timothy Liljegren -- Nick Robertson castoff packages we see in so many other CF trades. It's hard to construct a trade offer for Ullmark that would appeal to Boston unless the Bruins would accept pure futures (like the Gavrikov/Korpisalo trade from a couple of years ago) because DuBois is untradeable as a matter of state and the top 6 is untouchable as a matter of function.

Interesting Hawks trade. Why would Hawks pay for a 25 year old AHLer? If you don’t want him, don’t qualify him and he’ll be a UFA. If Hawks want him that badly they’ll wait until he’s UFA and sign him to a two way or AHL contract.

Your 2024 first for Ullmark. I’d say a second and a prospect, but I’m not sure there is a prospect that fills that value difference that you’d be willing to give up.

That said, the only way Ullmark says yes is with an extension and my guess is you won’t do that unless PLD is part of the deal based on your long term cap health.

laugh Wow a very creative OS on Veleno that Detroit would easily match.

And Linus Ullmark already said no to waiving to LA and the West Coast.

Doesn’t mean much to me. Getting back the pick for Cuylle was solid, but doesn’t change how I view the Kings. Same as Quick. A cup win is the only thing that changes things for me. Otherwise I don’t care about how many wins he provides.

I would be interested in Ward, but more than likely only as an AHL contract.
