Description
Yeah so I know this requires Ullmark to waive his NMC and that that's unlikely - just seems like if he would be willing to come that this is a pretty tidy way to clarify the D situation and handle the goaltending question in one go. Will this be just another example of Ottawa taking a stab at an aging goalie who won't work out once he arrives? Who knows. Feels unlikely they'll develop their own starter given the state of the pipeline and past results so they're kind of stuck making these trades/singings until something sticks.

I kept Pinto's deal short to try to keep the AAV down. any amount that can be squeezed from DeMelo and Toffoli's contracts should be funneled to Shane.

Let me know what you guys think about the relative value in the Boston trade. On the one had, Goalies don't tend to go for much. On the other hand, Chychrun isn't nearly as valuable as he was when the Sens acquired him right now.

Might bed a fair trade, but kinda think Bruins want cap space instead of almost equal cap switch.

If Ullmark is willing to waive for an extension, then the deal makes sense

With regards to the cap situation, I think that makes sense only if the agents of both Lindholm AND Hanifin or the equivalent two player shave let it be known they want to come to Boston

You're right. I imagine Lindholm and Hanifan would love to be Bruins. But if they want more $$$ elsewhere, the Bruins aren't in the running for both. If Hanifan has truly let it be known want to play in Florida, and I'm doubting Panthers and Lightning have the cap, gee why would Bruins want to sign a guy who really doesn't be there (well his third choice). I don't understand the love for Lindholm and all the term that so many CF posts having him getting...seven years.

I think you are mistaking love for Lindholm vs accepting that Sweeney doesn’t pursue a player with that level of persistence unless he wants him. I’ve been asked why 7 and answered it.

Boston probably is in a position to pay both at the top of their salary wishes if they trade Ullmark.

I’d prefer Hanifin and JDB to Lindholm and the equivalent salary to a D player. I’d probably prefer Guentzel to Lindholm, but I’m not the one making the decision.

On a side note, I’d prefer Hanifin and Lindholm to Hanifin, JDB, and the cap filler between the two.

I believe the concerns about Lindholm are based primarily on one year of explainable variance.

That said, I was answering your comment about cap flexibility. The only way that is present with their current cap situation is if they believe they can sign two impact players in free agency.

I'm not sure how many times we need to mention it? But all Canadian teams are on Linus Ullmark s no trade list. It's already been mentioned several times already.

Come on bro read the description. It's a trade simulator, not all of the mocks have to be likely to occur.

5'10" 185 is on the small side for a TB defenseman. They might give a little on the height or the weight but under Yzerman/Brisebois the only defender that played regularly that was both under 6'and 200lbs was Anton Stralman at 5'11" 193lbs

This will be the first time where an extension can be given and Boston will likely be among the least appealing with regards to stability.

Conditions will change in late June/early July and none of us know if that changes the parameters or not
