Who would you say is his closest comparable and how close is he to being NHL ready? All I know is that he is apparently a top NCAA FA (but thats just me reading something like 5 mins ago lol)

I had recently used Matthew Beniers and Trevor Moore in a recent post. Its a center and a winger...but think they both work.

Maybe Adam Henrique could be another.

He is a savvy player, should be + on bother sides of puck at his peak...but not likely huge point-producer.

What's his floor? I'd be thrilled if he became just a 3c

Zegras -- Carlsson -- Terry
Gauthier -- McTavish -- Graf

Not a NHL comparison but plays a pretty similar game and has similar upside to Easton Cowan.

He’ll start with the Marlies this year and then compete for a spot in camp next season and then it goes from there

People have been saying he has decided on Eastern Conference team (I think latest was Seravalli).
Some have said non-playoff team in East.
I believe a couple have linked PIT to Graf (including Friedman).
Dubas was at last Q'Pac game.

We all hope this kid pans out - prospect pool ok but can always get better - but Minten is our long term 3C

I look at Quillan as a left handed version of John Farinacci (former Harvard Center who was drafted by Arizona and signed in Boston). Super smart player who wins faceoffs and made a ton of big plays a the college level. Not a plus athlete in anything, but a competitor and fighter. That’s a good signing for a team that can probably use more players with his makeup

Quillan is better in tight spaces… I imagine the more bullish take on him sees that quality coupled with high Hockey IQ as good reasons he will prove up at next level at center spot.

And the defense is probably better too…(although I have maybe seen Farinacci once this year)

The AHL is a very different league than the college game. Both are smart, heady players who play above their tools. Don’t see star, but definitely see solid. I find it tough when the comparables for an undrafted kid are very good NHL players.

Hes a damn good college player. So was Farinacci at Harvard though injuries definitely derailed some of his production. Quillan has the better production at a college level. Think Faranacci probably has a tad more physical tools and offensive upside, while Quillan is a bit more complete. Both are players you want in your org
