Description
Mostly interested in what people think of the ekblad trade. Assume Edmonton adds but maybe not as Florida needs to loose some cap hit to sign all of there FA’s this summer. Still imagine Edmonton adds a high draft pick like 2026 first overall.

Also what’s ekblad want on his next contract? How’s his season been? I know he had a couple injuries but don’t watch Florida much.

Oh man I'm giving you a warning cause you seem to have good intentions but that Ekblad trade is going to be torn apart. Ceci is essentially a cap dump while Ekblad is a top pairing d-man.

The deal would have to be Ceci/Kulak + 25'1st + 24'2nd + Broberg + Holloway and I still don't know if Florida even considers that

Hawks aren't giving up assets for a player that is not a part of their longer term plans.

Ceci is not a cap dump.

Well he's not worth much, like a 5th or 6th at most. At the TDL he was being thrown around as a "roster player" in deals to upgrade on him and not a single team had any interest. He sadly isn't worth much

You don't know the details of what was and wasn't discussed at the deadline.

I would say his value is at least a 2nd. That's what the Oilers paid for Kulak and he's been well worth that; Ceci is a little more expensive but also brings more value to the Oilers roster.

There were reports of them offering Ceci + 24'1st for Tanev and the Flames declined. He isn't worth anywhere near a 2nd or a 3rd especially right now sadly.

Yeah it's some kind of evidence towards my statement. There is nothing backing up him being a positive asset while the TDL proved there isn't much of a market for him. We certainly won't need to use any picks to dump him but he's grabbing a 3rd at best
