For real, I'd be all about taking on Laine's contract but not at that price. And certainly not with Elvis also there

If the pure motivation is to get out from Elvis’ and Laine’s cap hit, this isn’t the worst trade.

I’d want the 2nd to be a ‘24 or ‘25, though.

I still would rather he get bought out or traded and retained, and then move Laine for nicer assets.

That Columbus trade is terrible for San Jose. Merzlikins has been horrible with a even worse contract and liane can’t stay on the ice

Like the Lafferty signing.

Laine, Kotkaniemi, and Kakko all good reclamaton projects. Goodrow a good cap dump. Price is probably too high for Laine, too low for Kotkaniemi and Kakko.
