No reason for the Devils to do this this offseason. Check back in when Nemec is ready for a full-season role at the top and Seamus Casey is ready.

You realize players have to agree to an offer sheet; just don’t see too many hitching themselves to the dumpster fire in Kanata right now. Maybe in 2-3 years if Staois can work some miracles but not now, with the team coming off 7 straight missed playoffs

I'd be willing to take that hit for Byfield all day.

If the kings don't have byfield locked up by the draft they're very dumb. Also you'd have to get to 10+ mill AAV before they even consider not matching

Then you don't have the assets for Quinton Byfield.

Chychrun is no longer worth that (it's a season after he went for a first and two seconds and his value hasn't increased) and Los Angeles matches, although painfully.

Let's imagine a team with cap (not the Sens) have the cap for such a signed offer sheet. If the Kings in this case, think the cap is too high, I just think it's better to get the picks and spend that 8m elsewhere on UFAs or your own team.
One reason I think offer sheets don't work, is teams pay a player UFA money and then have to give up picks too. Just sign a UFA and keep the picks.

There is nothing close to Byfield that will be available as a UFA.

We could just draft Berkley Catton
