Team: 2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 4, 2024
Published: Apr. 10, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
How to get better. You need a stud 1A goalie and a solid D core. With Robertson, McMann, Holmberg, and Cowan and Minten progressing. We should be fine to shed either Marner or Nylander for these upgrades. My choice is to trade Marner.

Can't think of worse trade giving up all that non cap for 6m Markstrom. Just sign a UFA.
M NTC Kampf can't be trading to "any team". For sure he will not have a poor team with cap on his trade list. (But some Leaf fans never learn)
Cowan and Minten are not NHLers in October.

Their never going to trade Marner or Nylander. If they ever were even thinking about it they would have done it already.

Truly … not good 🤦🏻.
Marner isn’t waiving, but you’re free to post whatever you want - even pointless fantasy that wastes everyone’s time. Avs and Vegas just won cups without stud 1A goalies; no chance Leafs make that deal.

Common sense is uncommon. You get one fool making a unrealistic Marner trade and the sheep follow the herd. NMC people it means something.

I could see that Jarnkrok deal working out for the Jackets.

That Marner trade, OTOH... just keep him, y'all. He does more for Toronto than he would for just about any other team and nobody's going to want to pay the trade value he deserves.

Leaf fans get a bad name on this site - partly because of our playoff failures but also partly b/c of the sheer volume of Leaf fans. We get a lot more of everything, including fantasy trades like this one. Agreed that NMC means Marner isn’t going anywhere , but it won’t stop some of our fellow Leafs Nation members

Avs and Vegas did not have stud goalies, but they did have a great group of defensemen. You need one or the other, or some combination of both, to be successful in the play offs. Until Toronto balances their line up better, it will just be more of the same for them. This is one of the main reasons so many posters suggest trades like this, even though in a some cases the values aren't close.

Everyone entitled to their opinion (even if unasked for), but not sure Habs fans should be explaining how hockey success works .
