Buch to BUF

Created by: letsgoblues1967

Initial Creation Date: Apr. 10, 2024
Published: Apr. 10, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Some BUF fans have said they would like to have Buch on the top line. This is a trade that gives the Blues two young players which fit into nicely onto the roster. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Assuming Snuggerud doesn't change his mind and Dvorsky needs another year to prepare.

The Blues will also need to sign a depth forward. I'm still not sure what to do with Krug.

If that extension is like 6.5M*6 years, then yes.

I think a return for Buch from BUF would look more like Rosen and a 1st with a + or - depending on the extension.

I think you’ll get pretty much the same response from the Sabres in real life that you’re seeing from the fans here
It all depends on the extension we’d need him to sign

My guess is that it’s gonna be more than the Sabres would want
After all, we just traded Mittelstadt for a defenseman bc we wanted to dedicate that Cap Space to defense & not forward

Buchnevich is a good player though, so it’s possible
Just very unlikely in real life imo

I think I would personally want either 2024 1st or Bowen Byram to be a piece in a Buch trade.

Why would anyone do that for a pending ufa approaching 30?

Let me start by saying I remain skeptical Buffalo will be a player for Buch, but far stranger things have happened, just in Indiana alone.

That said, I think the balance of your ask is off. More value in a Dman, less in a forward. They have so many good young D prospects it would be silly to put so many eggs in the forward basket.
