Same thoughts as before, if we lose in Round 1/2 and Kane has a couple rough series I say we do that. Especially with retention involved

Kane is a player, which no team wants. In this case retention would be off the table.

Kane is a type of guy that every team would benefit from having. He’s a big player that has been really good in the playoffs for us. I would argue that Kane brings more to the table than Smith. I may take Smith 50% retained for a pick, but that’s about it. I honestly don’t think Kane would waive for any team anyways.

WTF... Ron Hextall burner?
Smith == Kane, except Smith has a friendlier contract and is a well liked cup champ

LMAO Kane is absolutely not worth more than Smith. Same numbers, worse contract, worse teammate

Wrong. Kane scores about twice as much in the regular season and more in the playoffs. He's a power forward, he brings physicality and grit that fee in the league can match. He's worth at least twice what Smith is.

Doesnt matter what stats you use Smith is as good if not better than Kane in every metric

Last years playoffs: Kane - .41 ppg Smith - .64
This reg season: Kane - .55 Smith - .51
Career reg season: Kane - .66 Smith - .61
Career playoffs: Kane - .63 Smith - .75
Smith: +129 Kane: -50!

Kane is slightly better in reg season, Smith is better in the playoffs and plays defense. Add in Kane being unpopular teammate and having a worse contract and Smith is easily the more valuable player

Goals. I don't care if Smith has more secondary assists. He's absolutely not the type of player Edmonton would be looking for.

Kane isn't unpopular, that's a narrative that the haters are putting out.

I'd keep Kane over the soft Smith all day every day.

Kane has literally only had 1 good playoff out of 4. Reilly smith has as many double digit point playoff seasons as Kane has playoff seasons in general 😂.
