Description
lindstrom will be the next tkachuck which is exactly what the devils need. holtz is never going to fit into our top 6 and if traded he could be like sharangovich and score 30 goals the following year.

have to find a way to dump palats contract, even if it costs a 2nd or 3rd.

marino should be traded anywhere considering we have hamilton, nemec, smith( who hasn't been bad for a 3rd pairing dman), and hopefully casey in two years.

i know im going to take heat for saying smith hasn't been bad but hes been playing 20 mins a game.

I think the Sens would absolutely take that.

Problem is, Montreal also wants Lindstrom od Iginla and both would be gone by 9th

Kurtis MacDermid $9m?

I would….
- Pay MacDermid $775,000
- Nix the TBL deal (are cheaper alternatives out there)
- Nix the OTT deal (Marino to Smith is HUGE downgrade)
- Nix the MTL deal
- Draft Liam Greentree or best dman available
- Use 4th in BOS deal to add retention from 3rd team

+ 0.9 Holtz
+ 6.0 Palat
+ 4.4 Marino
- 2.7 Jeannot
- 8.2 MacDermid correction
- 2.5 Ullmark retention

That should provide about $2m more cap space (along with $1.5m already above), that should give $3.5m to find another dman or bottom-six center (to replace Bowers).

Iginla will be gone by 9th? Not so sure. Even if he is... Holtz & Catton for Lindstrom... Not sure it's a bad deal.

Its a bad deal. Since jan 20th he has fewer points than sean monahan has with the habs (joke being that we traded monahan 4 games later lol)

Holtz at this point is quickly losing what value he had. People will whine about icetime as an excuse but 6 points in 36 games (.16 ppg)isnt NHL calibre.

Ffs pezzetta has a .21 ppg this year and he plays less than 8 mins a game and kills penalties on occassion.

To lose the guy they want for a guy who at best becomes a shelter 3W (which we dont have room for) isnt worth it

Do you agree Iginla gets picked 2-8?

Definitely not at 2. I would say that once you get past celebrini, levshunov, and demidov it is pretty wide open though.

By the time 9 rolls around i cpuld see him being gone. Dickson, lindstrom by 9 are definitely gone but that still leaves 3 picks. I think especially once teams start zeroing in after the draft order is set he will move up.

Flames will take Iginla at 8th for sure, Sens could take him at 7th as well

Problem with moving back in the draft with a deal like this is, you’re basing it around a player who has maybe potential, and hasn’t done much in the league. I don’t think it would be a good trade to move back and miss out on a guy like Lindstrom to get a player who “maybe” could break out.

Don’t know why I quoted you so much haha

Obviously I put an extra 0 for mcdermid lol. I thought I put him at 900k. I also like Greentree but I would trade back bc I think he's going around 15. I really liked Bowers play the past couple games n don't think he'd b a bad 4th line.

I'd like to sign zadorov if we can find the cap space to replace marino. I'm not a fan of marino
