The habs went through this with Danault a few years ago. Theres a ceiling of what people will pay a defensive centre who isnt particularly productive.

Hes a good player but to pay him 6+ long term is a lot. Combine that with a full nmc. Its not a good contract
Hes being paid as a 1st line forward.

Cirelli is younger better salaries are going up TB IS MORE THAN F***ING HAPPY TO PAY THAT CONTRACT. That offer is certainly no favor
