Reilly Smith is becoming the most traded player on CFACGM.

Hawks decline. Once again, not paying anything for Smith.

Columbus quickly declines. We're not about to move quality assets for another mediocre $5.4M goalie with term, we already have one too many at home.

Man, I think a team would jump at that Smith trade, not sure why a team like the Hawks wouldn't do that trade. They have cap space and he is a free agent after the season next year. It's only a 6th rd pick.......were not trading you Ryan Graves for goodness sake. Smith is a good player, just needs a change of scenery.

So Pittsburgh should just trade him to a team that needs him then. There's no need for Chicago to get involved.

I agree w/ you. Some team might want Smith for a year. And a 6th is nothing. But that team isn't the Hawks. They need a middle 6 C, not another middle 6 winger. And the Hawks are still looking to monitize their cap space by taking on a bad contract or two to gain additional draft picks. Not spend a pick on a rental.

its a 6th rd pick......its not like you are giving away a prized pick at all. I get what you are saying but I still think the Hawks could use him.
