Colorado declines the first trade, Calgary declines the second trade.

Nothing in this comment made a single lick of sense.
1. Savard at 3.5M and a 3rd is hardly considered positive value
2. Mangiapane makes less than 6M
3. Mangiapane is being 25% retained in that proposal which would be cap hit of 4.35M
4. Calling Mangiapane a 3rd liner is quite ignorant, he's a middle 6er with a strong 2-way game and would still make ~6M on the open market, just like Terravainen will get this summer. He would also be 4th in even strength scoring on the Habs this season only behind their 1st line.

LMAO, never seen anyone get so upset about a player being called a 3rd liner just to immediately agree that he is a 3rd liner just in a completely different way. In case you don't understand what I mean let me break it down for you, the 3rd line is in the middle 6, can Mangiapane playe a 2nd line role, yes but so can Gallagher and Armia (two fairly comparable two way players) but ideally like Mangiapane they don't play above the 3rd line. That doesn't mean Mangiapane is a bad player or even overpaid in today's market, just that he isn't worth as much as you think he is. Typically to be considered a 2nd line player, you need more offensive production (either 60+ points on a yearly basis or 30+ goals), Mangiapane doesn't have the production, sorry. Habs don't need anymore depth players, we need actual 1st or 2nd line players who produce more than 60 points a season, especially if we are giving up one of our defensive leaders that is playing a pivotal role in developing our young up and coming D.

1. Savard and a third is positive value
2. Sorry about a 200k difference
3. He is a 40 pts winger. You know who else average 40 pts pace each seasons while making 4,4m, Christian Dvorak
4. Terravainen has multiple 60 and 1 70 pts season under his belt, Mangiapane has nowhere close to that. Also, the third line is in the middle six if you didn’t know.

On the open market, Mangiapane would get 3m max. So he is very overpaid

1. Savard with retention has some value, but certainly not at full price. With the flooded winger market I doubt anyone would trade for Mangiapane without retention either.
3. Dvorak has literally never gotten 40 points once, at least be accurate in saying Mangiapane averages 45 points with almost no PP time.
4. Ignoring PP time again, Teravainen only had 26 EV points this year. The 3rd line would make you 7th-9th in average ice time among forwards, which Mangiapane was 4th-6th

3M max? You are on drugs 🤣 he is very fairly paid right now.

Mangiapane is not at all what Montreal needs right now and hell, they probably need Savard more until their young blue line develops into legitimate defensemen but to you are very poorly describing him as a player

Savard is worth 3m easily lol. Without retention he gets at least a third

Dvorak literally only has 2 seasons with a sub 40 pts pace

Terravainen don’t play a lot more on the pp

If Mangiapane is worth 6m then how mich will Monahan make? 10m?

Avs decline in a heartbeat. Frankie already has effectively retired. The Avs can't afford Markstrom and certainly aren't giving up those pieces for him.
