Description
Chicago Continues on mostly same track they've been on, except this year they make a tad more of an effort to be better, by filling out most of their roster with actual NHLers. Definitely expect them to overpay --purposefully-- like they have with Foligno/Dickinson/AA89/Mrazek/etc in order to get guys. Mostly expect them to go for guys that make them tougher, bigger, but have some skill -- Mantha, Foegele, Dillon all do that imo. Carrier is brought on to actually be a piece for Chicago.

Kyle Davidsson said he realizes now is the time the Blackhawks need to start ascending. They might not be playoff contenders next year, but he’s ready to begin building up. They can’t finish bottom-three in the league again. Which to me means they'll make moves to gradually get better.

Trades:
Only One Trade Hayton, upside bet here Hayton had a promising year then regressed a little and battled injury fresh start in Chicago might do him good.

I don't think it's neccesarily time to trade 1sts for a youn talent but expect moves similar to Hayton, followed by likely recouping of whatever assets they spend at TDL by dealing whoever they sign in Free Agency to 1/2 year deals.

As discussed in your prior Utah post, Hawks aren't spending a 2nd on Hayton. He just doesn't have that sort of value. Hawks also won't target Dillon or any other LD as a free agent other than maybe a depth left shot guy who can play both sides as their 7th D. I'm fine w/ Carrier and Foegele. Instead of Mantha, Hawks need a middle 6 C. Reichel isn't in the lineup. He will be for sure. Entwistle, Johnson, Roos won't be re-signed.

Hayton still has great value. Imo a 2nd would be a steal. A late 1st and a b-prospect if AZ/UT are desperate to move him. Which they shouldn't be. Hes still has legit top 6 potential. Just might not be a fit with Cooley and Geekie coming.

Your correct. Utah shouldn't move Hayton. Because coming off his injury and poor offensive production this season, his value is nowhere close to a 1st or a 2nd. He's had one solid season as a pro. Not a great season. A solid season. Hawks definitely wouldn't pay your ask for Hayton. I doubt any team would.
