Deadline mania

Created by: ArakinSkywalker
Team: 2024-25 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 12, 2024
Published: Apr. 23, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Colton and one of girard manson or lehky are cap casualties. Colton is moved for assets and then basically bring in someone a mil cheaper during free agency or try ritchie or trenin to start the year and address it at deadline.
this scenario i move girard prior to the season for another player half retained. We could also try a few of our younger guys and address the player at the deadline since brodie has been signed for the veteran depth piece and just get assets for girard as well.
as for geo i burried him with the thought that he has another terrible game in playoffs and the team loses all confidence in him. I don't know who will take him without paying a bunch at the beginning of the season, if we can find the right deal we can move him but come deadline and on an expiring deal he should be much cheaper to move which would clear another 2 mil at deadline we can either address to a better 1A1B tandem or use it towards another position.

Absolutely not a snowball's chance in hell from the Jackets. You've got the picks going the wrong way and even then it's an easy no; the idea behind Provorov being here is that he's a stopgap we'll eventually move on from to make room for developing kids, and instead you have us committing much more cap space and money and more term to someone who's basically the same except he's smaller and has a concerning injury history.
