laugh One again Copp doesn't waive, And we sure as hell aren't giving up a young RHD prospect and a 3rd to move him. We've other players that can be moved to clear cap issues.

Still mad about all those RyJo to CHI trades? Let it go now, let it go.

Girard isn't a cap dump, nor is he a sweetener for a different cap dump. Take him out and the Avs do it (if they are looking to dump Georgiev that is). We'll have to see how Georgie does over the rest of the playoffs.

No chance the Hawks give Reichel a 6 year deal. 2x$2.5m is probably as good as it gets for Lucas. I'd be fine taking a flyer on Wahlstrom for free. Wouldn't give up anything for him though. Those other two trades are easy no's for the Hawks. Get what your trying to do, but taking on $14m in cap hit, and more than $10m for 3 more years, costs qay more than a 3rd and a couple of longshot RD prospects.

They aren't trading him in this ACGM, Detroit is paying Johansson and a 2nd minus a 5th.

If they can lock him up that long and still believe he can be the player they thought when they drafted him. Worse comes to worse you bury him in AHL and hes a 1.5m cap hit. Seems pretty low risk if hes willing to sign that long.

...... If that were the price I might consider it. tears of joy

I think he grabbed the wrong Johansson.

Why trade Copp? He matched his career average offensive output but had 20% more defensive zone starts.

It’s not really Copp as much as he’s just a little repetitive and that cap could be used to shore up the abomination that is our RHD.

He's probably our best option for 3C. Veleno isn't good enough. Compher is but he has to play 2C. Rasmussen is better on the wing. Fischer is better on the wing. Kasper maybe but then you would want a guy like Copp to help mentor him. I feel like Fabbri and Maatta/ Chiarot are repetitive. Rather move one or two of those guys to shore up RHD. We were the 9th worst defensive team, we shouldn't weaken one area to help another. Move from an area of strength.

Might not matter this season or next. But once Bedard, Korchinski and now Nazar are on their 2nd contracts and the Hawks are really trying to win, that $1.5m might come in handy. Honestly, don't see the team or the player doing it.
