Hawks aren’t paying for players. They’ll just go to free agency to get someone of Palmieri’s pedigree.

These trades are all terrible for the islanders, Palmieri might be the closest in value but Hawks aren't paying for players

Hawks easily decline. They aren't giving up a 2nd for one year of Palmieri. Chances of him scoring even 20 goals next season seems slim. Guys who have career best seasons at age 33 rarely replicate that production unless they're named Ovi or Sid.

Seems like a lot of overreacting going on here. Paying to ditch Pelech and replacing him with legend Ben is not gonna go the way you're imagining.

You might get a 2nd from a contender at the deadline for a rental Palmieri, but not from a rebuilding team like CHI.
