Verbeek wants to start competing, I don’t think he accepts because of that

Edit: I supposed you could say that Pat would also like to ‘get over the hump’

I don't see the Flames taking on that Skinner contract for only a 1st.

Kadri has been great, so I'm not as eagar to trade him, unless we get quality assets back.

This should be called Sabres make a series of bad trades. You have them giving away Jokiharju and grossly overpaying for Vatrano. Not to mention, it’s not as if Skinner is dog ****, and Kadri’s contract is longer than his.

Calgary keeps Kadri if that's all you offer for him.

I think that neither team would be happy with the Ducks deal. Buffalo is giving up a lot for Vatrano, and Anaheim probably doesn't want two left-handed wingers for him.

Fair point. I figure, for each 5 million of straight cap dump, you should ask for a mid-late first. Skinner isn't completely worthless, he's overpaid by 2-3 million (although, I totally understand not wanting him). So if he's overpaid by 6-9 million over 3 years, to me that's the equivalent of one one mid-late first plus a sweetener. The Sabres pick is currently 11th, I assume it stays there, that's pretty close to fair value. Of course that assumes that Skinner at (let's say) 6.5 million for 3 years is fair value for kadri at 7 for 5 more years (he's 33 now, so it's well into the back 9 of his career). It's all moot probably, he has a ntc, and he wants to be near Toronto.
