I know Habs fans will probably hate this but if we decide to blow it up like this why wouldn't we take an 11 million dollar cap dump to get a top 7 pick...

Habs fans, this gives you so much freedom with your roster and the ability to sign Slaf and Guhle to big contracts right away and not have to worry about cap hit.

Caps could then draft a defenseman early and a forward with their pick.

Something like:
Silayev/Yamechuk/Dickinson with the Habs
MBN/Helenius/Connelly with the Caps

Value wise, Habs trade is probably fine but I don't get why everyone is trying to take the Habs bad contracts, Montreal has all the cap space in the world right now, we don't need to dump Gallagher or Anderson this year, next year maybe, but it's not a move that makes sense this offseason

Hey man, just going off that dudes trade. I agree the Wild shouldn't do it but if it were ever offered the caps would need to do it

I love Lapierre's game but there's no way Montreal gives up a top 7 pick for him, even if they dump those contracts
