I don't hate it for CHI, but that third year on Palat's contract might complicate the deal. Plus, he has a full NMC.

The palat contract is bad but it’s not that bad. He’s overpaid by about $2-2.5M per season, it’s not PL Dubois bad. There’s no reason to move on from him at that kind of premium. Having Jack Hughes at $8M and Nico Hischier at $7.25M cushions the blow.

that's for sure not true Palat is still very much a 4 million dollar player
