Draft day trade with SJ for the PIT pick

Created by: guzman
Team: 2024-25 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: May 7, 2024
Published: May 7, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
since MAck,DEmidov and Cayden are gone by the 7th oa you draft Tij and at 14th you draft becket sennecke

is that enough SJ fans? I've seen Grier trade down in the past (see june 7th 2022) where they traded 11th for 27th,34th,45th

this can help a rebuilding SJ garnish their cubberts

You know what fair. If any GM were to trade down 14 spots for someone a couple months away from waivers it would be him or Lou

for sure - who would you want at 14 if you still had the pick?

What’s with the Grier hate? He’s been on the job 2 years and he’s already cleaned up the Sharks cap situation, amassed at top 5 prospect pool, secured the best odds at Celebrini, and has two 1sts in the next two drafts.

I don't completely dislike what he's done with what he was given and think he's been fine, but for every solid trade he makes there's another head scratcher value wise. That Burns trade with retention was awful from the start and only got worse. Not sure how he retained on Hertl for 6 years and gave up 2 high 3rds in the process for what amounts to 2 late 1sts. EK trade was fine even though he was coming off a great season because his cap was a limiting factor.

Did great on Duke and Meier.

Now that the cap mess is (mostly) clear, I expect him to have some experience and make good decisions value-wise in both draft (his 2023 was A+ in my view) and trades here on out.

Nice to see another Sharks fan critical of Grier on here.

He's won some minor stuff, but overall I think he's kinda lost.
That Hertl trade might be on Hertl more than Grier btw. I hate that trade.

A lot of that is good luck, not him specifically imo.
