Despite trading 11m Marner without taking $$$ back, still an impractical 21 roster. How Pens Marner and why would they give up so much for a rental?

Really curious as to what the Hawks are getting for that 1st rounder in this deal? Or did you just forget to tap on Knies when creating the trade?

Marner would be more likely to waive his clause to go to a team that is in contention. Also, Dubas would be more willing to make a deal for Marner because he is familiar with him and isn't shy to make big deals. Leafs could take some money back in this deal, however the cap is going up to 87.7 million this year, so pens could make it work. I think a good prospect, 1st and 2nd pick is a fair deal for a 100 point ish player. I think that the veterans in Pittsburgh could get more out of marner in the playoffs as well.

I changed the trade, maybe the last one wasn't great lol. I think the new one could be possible though. Chicago gets two younger players that could potentially breakout and the pick is Toronto's so will likely fall in the 20th-28th range.

Nope. Lillypad and Robertson are not getting you a 1st round pick from the Hawks.

That's only slightly better than the original trade. Hawks would probably spend a 3rd at most for Lilypad. Robertson isn't a player the Hawks would have much if any interest in. Too small. Too injury prone. At best, he's a throw in as part of a larger trade. If the Leafs are looking for a 1st back for those two, Leafs need to find a different team.

I would counter with Raddysh, Phillips, Calgary’s 2024 5th round pick and Chicago’s 2025 7th round pick for Toronto’s 2026 1st round pick.

Fair enough, it's not a trade the leafs really need to make just a way to recoup some of their draft picks.

Penguins aren't giving you that for Marner.
Dubas is never going to help TOR, he may fleece you, but he's never going to help you.
