Do you let the youth run its course or do you try and push for the playoffs.

Sharks getting celebrini. 2 rookies in top 6. If sharks stay healthy they could be decent. Of course they gotta add more Cap to hit the floor.

don't think they go for playoffs in 24/25, but I think 25/26 could make sense, at least be competitive
also Grier said they're letting Barbie walk (heard he might go back to Russia)

Sharks def have enough cap space to at least get 2 middle six players to be competitive.

The defense isn't that bad looking but that 4th line is atrocious. 2nd line could be deadly if logan stays healthy

Sharks have too many holes in their prospect/young player pool. I'm betting Celebrini heads back to college for another year while the Sharks tank (no pun intended) again and land another top 5 pick next year. Realistically, the Sharks are at least 26/27 until they can consider a run. Maybe more competitive in 25/26 but likely still a bottom 5 or 6 team.

Scott Wheeler earlier tonight:

“What does this mean for Macklin Celebrini’s college decision?

I wrote before the lottery that I believed the results could influence Macklin Celebrini’s college decision. He has said publicly that he’s not opposed to going back, and has suggested privately that he’s considering it. It being San Jose makes it a particularly interesting and layered decision. They’re a long way away, maybe the furthest of the bunch. Next season is quite likely going to be another ugly one for them on the ice. Does that make a return to Boston University more likely? I’d think yes.

There are pulls in that direction, too. He’s a late birthday. His close friend Cole Eiserman is going to be a Terrier next season. Nobody has ever won back-to-back Hobey Baker Awards. He could chase that World Junior gold in Ottawa (I know Hockey Canada hasn’t ruled having him out). There’s a lot to consider and now less of a rush to jump into the NHL, I’d think. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t sign, but the case to return is likely more compelling now.“

Yeah I figured that. Thanks for the article.

Hawks ain't contending until 26/27.

They have alot holes in there lineup. Kurashev and bedard are the only offense they have. I do feel Hawks can make playoff push like the flyers did if they add key free agents

I'll a hawk roster

Never said the Hawks, my reply was about the Sharks.

Here's what I just responded to another users about the Hawks.

Here's the list of prospects...
Bedard of course
Vlasic (top 2 of all NHL defensivemen (better than Faber defensively) in the D zone this season playing the toughest competition on the first line as a rookie this year...guy is a stud)
Korchinski - will be a solid #3 dman
Oliver Moore (middle 6)
Frank Nazar (middle 6)
Sam Rinzel (likely a 2nd liner #4 dman)
Lucas Reichel (bad rookie outing but kid has talent)
Kurashev (strong middle 6)
Ethan Del Mastro (very solid #4 or #5 Dman)
Drew Commesso (2nd goalie taken in his draft year)
Adam Gajan (first goalie taken)
A slew of bottom line defensive and bottom 6 up front (Dach, Greene, Kaisier, Allan, Crevier, Kantserov, Hayes, Ludwinski, Lardis, Slaggert, etc)...at least 3 will make the NHL team
plus #2 pick (Demidov or Levshunov) and #20 pick this year, plus 4 2nd round picks (at least 1 will hit), plus (2) more 1sts next year including a lottery pick

Watch the team rankings for the strongest prospect system (last year the Hawks were top 4 in the NHL) this summer post draft...there will be little debate they are top 3 if not top 2. And for those not paying attention, no the rebuild didn't begin last season, it's been going on for a few years now with this season in the books which is why they are much closer, not to mention in a very advantageous spot with cap space for the foreseeable future which means some big free agent signings coming in the summer of 25 and 26.

Hawks will be quite competitive in 26/27...and a true cup contender within 1 to 2 seasons of that.
