Marner Not Wanted Signed All Fans

Created by: iAce
Team: 2024-25 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: May 10, 2024
Published: May 11, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Marner is not something Wild fans want. Can't afford him. Doesn't perform in the playoffs. Shown he doesn't care about winning. All things we do not want here. Stop with the rumors and trade proposals. Faber isn't available.

Wild need to create roster flexibility for the youth and change our identity. Bottom 6 should not feel comfortable and we should be looking to move players that have NMC.

  1. Rossi, Marco
Additional Details:
The second best proposal I heard but probably not likely to happen.

  2. 2024 5th round pick (COL)
NJD
  1. Gustavsson, Filip
  2. 2024 1st round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
This deal makes a ton of sense. It could be a draft day trade, not sure who would slide but we make room for the Wall of St Paul.

MIN
  1. Chesley, Ryan [Reserve List]
WSH
  1. Hunt, Daemon
  2. Johansson, Marcus
  3. 2024 4th round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Mixed responses for the previous Chesley trade. 1 fan loved the trade another wanted a bit more. JoJo gives you guys another player to elevate the team while Ovi is there. Hunt is a similar type prospect and probably closer to making an NHL impact. 4th to give you a bit of extra value since that was some of the feedback given. JoJo could be flipped at the deadline for a 2nd so I'm taking into account that he is a plus asset and can land more value in the future.
4.
TOR
  1. Rossi, Marco
Additional Details:
Here is the honest feedback from fans and our beat writers. The Wild are open to moving Rossi, ONLY if they get a player back that is in a similar situation. 21-22 years old. Maybe has under performed on that team. Plays a bigger type game than Rossi. Taller, weighs more, harder to move, gritty. If Knies is completely untradeable, than the Wild wouldn't have a reason to move Rossi to Toronto. And that is ok!

I do think if the core is going to get shaken up, you could move a Knies for Rossi straight up. Rossi allows JT to move and replace him on a cheap contract. You keep Bertuzzi/Matthews/Domi together on the top line. Rossi and Nylander become line mates. And you sign a guy in free agency to play 2nd line minutes and replace Knies. You can then sign a better core on the defensive side of the puck and have a more balanced team. You probably get some reasonable assets for JT and now you aren't forced to trade Marner and you can get more. We got Faber and Ohgren for Fiala when we had to move him. You wouldn't be forced so you could ideally get a bit more. I don't think it's as bad as fans want to complain about. Rossi for Knies.

I'm completely fine keeping Rossi as I think he is just starting to find his groove.

MIN
  1. Timmins, Conor
  2. 2024 1st round pick (TOR)
  3. 2026 3rd round pick (TOR)
TOR
  1. Spurgeon, Jared
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
I'm kinda torn on what a Spurgeon deal looks like. I do think the fit in Toronto would be great. The issue is I don't know a fair return for him. Taking a guy like Timmins gets us a guy to see how he performs on a new roster. Toronto doesn't have much in terms of picks so maybe moving up from 45 OA to 23 OA. and a 3rd in 2026. We are giving up a good player with leadership and getting younger. He's still going to perform to his contract ending in 3 years. He will be 37ish when its completed. Maybe he wins a cup in those 3 years. Maybe Toronto doesn't want/need Spurgeon but looking at the right side of the d-core, I think he would slot in as a top pairing guy as it sits.

I think the Leafs keep Knies because he's exactly what they need, also think AZ bets on Guenther to become a PPG winger. How about Perfetti for Rossi?

Are we supposed to be acting like what fans want matters 1 bit in anything NHL roster related?

Why are you on the ACGM part of this site if you don't care about ACGM?

ACGMs aren't what fans as a whole want. In this case he's speaking for Wild fans but why should Leafs fans care what Wild fans want for trade proposals? Why should someone making an ACGM care what Wild fans want when it won't have any effect on the end result if it does happen? If GMs don't care what fans want, why should armchair GMs?

So you make ACGM's that you like, not caring whether it's realistic or whether the other teams would actually agree?

That explains a lot about Leafs fans on here actually.

Auston Matthews for Mats Zuccarello ACGM incoming

You said whether its realistic but that's not a measure we're using here. It's what fans want which isn't related at all. The fact you couldn't answer any of the questions makes it plain you have no ground to stand on. If actual GMs don't pay attention to what fans want, why should armchair GMs?

Pretty doubtful Marner waives for Minnesota so you’re good bud. Knies is not getting traded
