devils aren't putting up two 2nds with Holtz for Ullmark and paying Stephenson and Joshua 9.5 is crazy bad

Given the players, I'd go:

Zacha - Stephenson - Pasta
Marchand - Coyle - Lysell/Holtz
Joshua - Poitras - Geekie
Freddy - Beecher - Brazeau/Lauko

no more crazier than someone over paying DeBrusk which they are clearly smart enough not to do.

this has some good and some bad. i like stephenson as a target.

that's pretty much the end of the good:
- going after dakota and letting debrusk walk - bad
- not retaining heinen - what is going on with bruins fans? have you not been watching him?
- poitras on the 4th line - not a thing
- lohrei third pair and blocked from top four for two years - bad idea
- settling for second round picks for ullmark and not getting one this year - bad

I’d prefer Lindholm to Stephenson even if he comes at an increased cost. This playoffs as well as his others shows me he’s exactly what this team needs in a top line center. Stephenson is a good backup plan, but plan A should be Lindholm. It’s not uncommon for a player in his final year to be affected by the uncertainty. He certainly isn’t showing any ill effects during the playoffs. Barkov is killing us and I believe Lindholm matches up better than anyone in free agency. I know I differ from some who believe they can low ball him or don’t want him at a market contract, but IMO, Lindholm is going to be their top target and I’m OK with that risk

Lohrei probably warrants a top 2 line assignment after this playoffs and Poitras should be in the 3rd line. Pass on Skjei, sign a third line D vet to push Wotherspoon, and resign Heinen. Use the incremental left over money to get Lindholm instead of Stephenson

A lot of good points, but I would say that a lot of the off-season business gets done after the draft, so the 2025 2nd would be a current one.

if it's a first round pick then 2025 makes sense. for second rounders, has to be a 24 pick.

Yeah, I guess the Bruins would have until the TDL to settle for less.
