Now with McD gone, I'd consider it.

I can't imagine the preds moving Tomasino for Chychrun, let alone a first on top of him.

He was flip flopping between the AHL and NHL IIRC this year and wont be waiver ineligible anymore next season. Theyll either have to deal him while hes got value or commit to him being a full-time roster piece next year. First round pick could be conditional on something as well

I don’t think Tomasino has as much value as he did last year

I think they have the pieces at RD available to properly insulate him

Yeah I get that, I just think that they value him really highly and are going to do everything they can to have him succeed in Nashville. If they wanted to move on from him, I think it would be part of a bigger deal for a long term piece they can keep rather than a guy with one year left.

Probably not, but I'd be surprised to see them move off of him at age 22.

Their prospect pool is filled with wingers. They could trade him before his value goes lower

I think the idea would be to extend him though

I don't think so, the way I see this move is Trotz making room for the young guys already in Milwaukee. I think this move is so Statsney can have a full time role in the top4 next year

I like Stastny but I hope not. He's not good enough for top 4 minutes. I'd rather trade Lauzon, get Chych (or anyone) as the 2LD then play Spencer on the bottom pair

Statsney had an On-Ice Expected Goals% of 54%. That was higher than every Pred's Dman not named Roman Josi. He was an AHL Allstar and mostly played with Luke Schenn as his partner, and he still had great numbers. He looked fine in a small sample size, and has earned a shot at a bigger role next year.

Saying he's not good enough for top 4 minutes when he's only 24 with only 28 games in the NHL, but a +14 +/-, and a ton of room for growth is crazy

Kulak is worth more than a 4th, Edmonton would move him for a 2nd.

Because he was sheltered with a relatively low quality of comp. I’m not keen on taking small sample sizes as bond then throwing rookies into the top 4 who aren’t ready. I like Stastney but I’d rather secure an ACTUAL top 4 defenseman.
