This isn’t a 1for1 is it? I like Goyette, but I wouldn’t trade Necas for him. If I was Carolina, I would much rather trade him for a RHD.

Benries is still a work in progress in my eyes and only has one season of top-6 production

The Leafs were able to find an injury serious enough to stick Matt Murry on LTIR and with Freddie's injury history I'm sure there is something still lingering

The Hurricanes don't really need a RHD... we have Morrow and Burns for next year and Chatfield could probably be resigned cheaply... so 2C is the real area of concern and I'd much rather go for a prospect long-term than somebody like Lindholm

As opposed to Necas who has a long track record of what? 40-50 point play?

Potential (and position) matters. Two-way play matters. Seattle isn't sending you Beniers for Necas, not even close.

I mean the Kraken is also about to have a massive logjam at center... with McCann, Berniers, and Wright are all going to need Top-6 spaces and I'm sure we can add more but I think that deal could work for both sides

McCann isn't a center lol, and even if they did have that logjam, Beniers is the last one to go

Wright was a little bit of a stretch but have you guys looked at Beniers production in the show? Like, come on... Necas is an established guy in the show and Berniers had one season of top-6 production and suddenly everybody is acting like he's untouchable and that's not even getting to linemates

My God. He's played 2 seasons.

Necas has 1 season in his whole career better than beniers age 19 season

At beniers age necas had 38 career points

The fact that he's only played two seasons is kind of my point... We still don't know whether year 1 or year 2 is the version of him that we're gonna get consistently.

I mean A. It doesn't hurt to ask and B. This was more about the upcoming logjam in the top-6 for Seattle... I can see four guys need two spots in the next two years
