Sorry, no. I have no defensive depth to sacrifice someone like Juulsen. Anyway, I traded for him, I want to keep him. He'll likely be my 6D, or my first call-up this season, and my #3/4D of the future.

Gourde for Dzingel

I'm not convinced that Gourde will make it in the NHL, let alone match Dzingel's production (and potential for 40pts maybe). Although I'd probably consider Gourde and Koekkoek for Dzingel. Would need to discuss with my AGM first.

Either way you're getting 2 top 6/9 forwards and a 4/5 D for 2 bottom 6 forwards, a pick, and a cap dump.

Gourde will make the NHL this year unless he completely bombs in training camp.

Cammalleri has two years of 5M while on an obvious decline (31pts last season) and has no usage to me and my team plan (as I've stated many times before, I'm not a cup challenging team this season or the next).
Boedker could be interesting, though let's be honest that he's a 3rd line winger. Calling him top 6/9 is too flattering.
Dillon is a 5D, so you're close enough. there could be some interest there, but his cap isn't negligeable. Something can be worked out there though.
Richardson is a bottom-6 player.

Just so we're on the same page on how I feel about these players.
You're currently very cap-strapped, so you're not really dealing from a position of power here. But I'll work with you, as long as it fits my team's interests.

Nothing is guaranteed, but yes he does have a chance this year as the space opened up. Still, I believe Dzingel has the higher ceiling, plus is a much more "secure" option to go with. Uncertainty always leads to reduced value. So does Gourde and Koekkoek for Dzingel (can be interchanged with Wilson, if you prefer, but I think Dzingel is better) interest you?

I'm not cap strapped so don't worry about that part. (I actually have more than it looks like - at least another $4.5M from the IRL Beauchemin buyout that I never made)

I'm not completely averse to your counter, but something else would have to be included, otherwise I'm just pulling from the middle of my lineup towards the bottom.
If you view Cammalleri negatively, he doesn't need to be included. Context is important though, he put up 30ish points in about 60 games on a terrible Devils team.
Boedker's last poor offensive season isn't enough to say he's definitively a 3rd line player, he was putting up .60 P/G prior that.

Boedker, Dillon, 3rd (WPG - 2018) for Helm, Paajarvi, 2nd (CGY - 2018) should be a suitable compromise. Sound good?

I would like to include Richardson if you would like to have him (not for cap purposes, I'm fine for cap space as I said). A 5th in 2020 perhaps? (since you have 2 there, if not a 6th in an earlier year is sufficient)
I have too many players and part of the point was to consolidate at least 1 player in a trade, but this ends up a 2-for-2 trade.

We're getting closer to a mutually beneficial deal. I'll consult my AGM and return with a counter offer. Normally, I'm not too comfortable trading away my 1sts and 2nds in minor trades. I'll get back to you about this.

And for Richardson, I might do something like that (6th) to make the deal smoother for you, if I see that I can do something like that, even though I do have better options elsewhere. I won't totally go hardball on you haha

Will not be trading away my future at C (Brown) for someone I'd only be considering for flip value (his UFA status makes him not part of my team's plan). I honestly wouldn't give you Brown for Pacioretty one-for-one, don't think I can flip him back for a prospect of equal value.

Let me know. I feel like I'm giving up the better players (though we might disagree on where Boedker fits, he's still an upgrade on Paajarvi.)
Helm, I'm realistically expecting 2 years out of. His body might not hold up well for his style of play much longer and he'll be making way for younger players in Detroit.
So I feel like the pick upgrade is a reasonable balance to the deal.

Don't feel obligated to do Richardson, only if you see him as a useful piece. He still has some good years in him as a veteran bottom 6 winger if he's 100% this season.
I'm just trying to avoid either placing him on waivers later or giving him a younger player's place for this year.

Alright, I discussed with my AGM. We're rather high on Paajarvi's chances in having a surprise season, as he seems to have the chance at an increased role on an improved team. But we are willing to do the trade, if you're willing to lower the stakes on picks (we'll need 'em).

I appreciate the attempt, but those pieces don't do anything for me. You're offering depth at positions I already have plenty of depth in.
I like that Paajarvi is a part-time bottom 6'er. The biggest surprise would be if he plays 80 games.

A 2nd rounder is the only return that I can see that realistically works unfortunately. Other pieces are either of no value to me or too high value for what I'm offering.
Not sure we can reach an agreement this time, but I'll let you know if I come up with something.

Just wanted to let you know that you never had Max Reinhart (I saw you traded him to Cap). I signed him at free agency time and as those players aren't able to be traded, will remain with me until at least January 1st.
