A secondary RW prospect, along with a dump (Holden) doesn't get more attractive to the Leafs with any number of secondary picks. Leafs only interest in moving anyone at this point is to take an area of strength and move it to enhance an area of weakness that can help now and possibly in the future. It may require a package to accomplish this but they're not about to take a package like above. Would the Rangers take Fehr, Marincin, a 2nd, and 3rd, for Vesey?

Realistically if you wanted Bozak, Leafs would trade Bozak for Filip Chytil straight 1 for 1. Leafs may even retain 50% salary.

Vesey is more valuable than Bozak, and Fehr+Marincin isn't as valuable as Holden.

If the Leafs sign him to a cheap 4-5 year extension first, I think NYR might be on board with that trade. But without the extension in place, one 2nd round pick at the trade deadline is closer to Bozak's market value as a playoff rental. Salary cap shouldn't be a limit, probably get a lower price on Bozak by offering to do the deal before training camp ends and the waiver process begins.

Again (like so many Ranger or Pen fans) are trying to make a value trade, instead of a trade that will help both teams. If the Leafs trade Bozak, they need a centre back. Again, if you make this post with the Leaf lineup instead of always posting the Rangers you might understand why. Even that deal wouldn't work the Rangers....no cap and a roster of 21.

You can't give the Leafs scraps and expect to get a quality player like Bozak. It doesn't work that way in the NHL

Why would the rangers trade what they expect to be a dynamic play making high upside potential #1 center for a 31 yo rental who's never topped 55 points in a season and is entering the downslope of his career? Leafs management has confirmed they have NO interest in Holden back in July. The only way they move Bozak is if they're taking an NHL ready center back, and with how shallow the Rangers are on D, that's just not going to happen. Plus, the window to get Bozak closed for the Rangers when they didn't buy out Staal's contract, so unless significant cap is being moved the other way (which will cost the Rangers a lot more) then it won't happen.

Sorry, you know so little about the Leafs. Again I asked you to look at their roster, but obviously you didn't. Matthews, Kadri, Bozak and Moore are their only NHL centres. And there are no NHL centres in the AHL. Hence the importance of having Bozak. Trade Bozak for Rangers scraps and the now the Leafs now have Moore as the # 3 centre, or in case of injury then he's a # 2. Think of other teams needs please when making a trade, it's important in any trade in case you didn't know
