GM Game 2017-2018: Montreal Canadiens

Created by: ricochetii
Team: 2017-18 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 15, 2017
Published: Sep. 15, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Win now mode.

Status: Looking for depth improvements and futures.
I'm listening to anything, but main roster is pretty much set, so offer accordingly.

---------- Available -----------
Schlemko - 3rd/4th or equivalent prospect
Morrow - 6th/7th round prospect, prefer RW/RHD

Offers should include futures without having a negative impact on my roster. (ie: if you want Benn I'd expect a RHD that helps me now as well as a pick or a prospect).
If prices are high it is because I have no NEED to move anyone.

Players currently in the minors are negotiable (view Capfriendly team list: https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canadiens)

------------ Wants -------------
- Missing picks
- The last 5 years back

----------- Directives ------------
- Build a contender
- Manage cap
- Restock picks

** Ignore lines and roster set up. I'll be playing with it a lot. **

----- Player Rights -------
F: Naatinen Pezzetta Cates Vejdemo Ikonen Trunev Friberg
D: Koberstein Staum Henrikson Tyszka Walford Fleury Brook
G: Hawkey

----- Notes -----
I own the 2nd (WSH - 2018) from the conditional picks in the Drouin/Sergachev trade.

So are you still intrested in Barberio?

Yup. Did you have a return in mind? My hands are tied until October now, so plenty of time to consider.

Yea I have a couple of offers on the table right now so I'm just deciding. Sorry, I forget the original offer, what was it if you recall?

If you like Murphy better, that's fine. Your call. I like Barberio, but if it would take more than one of those players, I'd be better off spending the extra to get someone with some term.
I'll check back after I have some answers and see if you still have him.

I offered Carr, De La Rose, or Morrow.

Ok.. would I'm more so interested in De La Rose. Would you do a 2018 3rd instead? Because Kayla offered a 2018 4th.

De La Rose is possible. A 3rd is not. One of my directives is to restock picks. If I'm going to spend a pick, I'm going after a bigger target.
Sorry if that doesn't work for you, but at least you have options. I thought I was one of the few that actually liked Barberio. Wasn't expecting competition. squinty smile

I'm still upset with your predecessor for claiming him off waivers, and my predecessor for putting him on waivers in the first place.

all good. yeah i've had a couple of people contact me about him. I'll consider my options on him though and get back to you if you made the cut or not haha.

I offered you some potential bottom 6 players on your page and didn't see a response. A "no thanks" is fine, but no answer makes me wonder if you saw it at all.

Schlemko isn't available except as a last resort later in the season. Trying not to move players that were just acquired.
I don't like Jenner at all. Murray is a possibility, but no more so than Mete, so I'd have to wait and see what happens with both players.
A Galchenyuk trade would have to involve Werenski and Foligno, perhaps Juulsen. I'd have to check cap ramifications as well.

I can't do anything until October, so if you want to wait and think over some things, there's no rush.

Done for the month as I'm at my transaction limit, but still listening for potential options for later.
Galchenyuk won't be moving soon, or easily, if at all. I'd want at least a temp replacement and a young offensive LHD if I were trading him right now.
So something like ELC LHD and Neal/Hornqvist (and whatever to balance it out). You don't quite have what I'm looking for at the LHD position.

This is all preempted if Mete (or someone else) is able to step in and fill the role I need from the Habs when the season starts.

                    Mete for a 6th

I don't normally find offers insulting, but a 6th for a player drafted in the 4th round a year ago, who looks like he has a legitimate shot at making the team this season. Where's the logic in that?

The main thing I'm looking for right now, is a young offensive LHD, which Mete is. If I were going to move him, it would either be for a similar player with a bit of experience, or something completely different if I fill his spot with someone else in another trade. For now, I'll hold onto him and see if he's going to play this season.

I won't dismiss the possibility, but check back around the end of next month. I'd prefer some NHL experience, but we'll see where Mete and Djoos are at that time.

Hello, there is a person interested in being apart of the game as MTL. His name is ConnorMcMillionaire and he messaged me about joining the league. I'm not sure he knows what this is about, but I felt it was a good idea to put on my Anaheim Assistant GM wanted thread that I would also attempt to coordinate AGM's for other teams as well, since there has been a lot of Teams interested in acquiring one or two. I never said which teams were interested in AGM's but he picked your team I guess. Can you get back to me about this so I can give him directions of what to do? He can either A. Have an interview type situation with you if you are interested in an AGM or B. Be directed to another team that is in need of an AGM. Both seem like logical options, so I'll wait until you come up with your choice. Sorry your sick, I'll tell him it might be awhile before he gets an answer.

That's nice of you. This flu's been going around so I expect to be out of commission for a few days, so tell him he can feel free to drop me a line here so I remember to get back to him.

No thanks. Trying not to move off-season acquisitions.

a 5th is too high for any of those players but i'd be willing to do a conditional pick
