GM Game 2017-2018: Montreal Canadiens

Created by: ricochetii
Team: 2017-18 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 15, 2017
Published: Sep. 15, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Win now mode.

Status: Looking for depth improvements and futures.
I'm listening to anything, but main roster is pretty much set, so offer accordingly.

---------- Available -----------
Schlemko - 3rd/4th or equivalent prospect
Morrow - 6th/7th round prospect, prefer RW/RHD

Offers should include futures without having a negative impact on my roster. (ie: if you want Benn I'd expect a RHD that helps me now as well as a pick or a prospect).
If prices are high it is because I have no NEED to move anyone.

Players currently in the minors are negotiable (view Capfriendly team list: https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canadiens)

------------ Wants -------------
- Missing picks
- The last 5 years back

----------- Directives ------------
- Build a contender
- Manage cap
- Restock picks

** Ignore lines and roster set up. I'll be playing with it a lot. **

----- Player Rights -------
F: Naatinen Pezzetta Cates Vejdemo Ikonen Trunev Friberg
D: Koberstein Staum Henrikson Tyszka Walford Fleury Brook
G: Hawkey

----- Notes -----
I own the 2nd (WSH - 2018) from the conditional picks in the Drouin/Sergachev trade.

                    Nuge+ for RyJo?

No thanks, I'm happy with Ryjo. I also think this is the 3rd time someone's tried to trade me RNH. wink

                    But the Nuge is HUGE

I'm number 1 and thought it warranted repeating. Sticking Out Tongue

Interest in Barberio has waned with the addition of Fowler and Mete performing well. No idea how Schlemko will perform yet.
I guess it would depend on what you are looking for?

Honestly just looking i have glut of dman on the left side. Most are 3rd pair. I wanna play 2 guys that r in the minors. Want to claim someone on waivers but have 23 up and difficult to send someone down according to my plan. On a side note is Comeau of any intrest?

                    No interest in Comeau.

                    Hemsky for Barberio or
Hemsky and Carr for Barberio and a 6th or
Shaw and Carr for Barberio, Comeau, and a 3rd

Id rather just do Barberio for a pick or Barberio + Comeau for B. Tanev

I need options that help me now. This hurts me now by losing Byron. Opposite direction for me.

My pick supply is diminished, so I'd rather not spend picks on a peripheral/lateral move.
I also really like Tanev and plan for him to replace Mitchell at least.
Comeau would be going straight to the waiver wire and would only be to offset some salary for this season.
I'm at 23 players and have room to move a forward for a defenseman if they are of similar/equal value, but only if it makes sense with the players involved.

This is a possibility. Will have to check back once you're allowed to make a trade.

If you want to be ripped off and/or fired, sure.
Word of advice? Careful with your player evaluations. Maybe pick up an AGM if possible so you have a second opinion on player values. Barrie is worth a lot more than you are asking here.

Did you not like my offer on Sobotka or have a variation of it to counter with?

I was hoping the BOE would step in to prevent that since it doesn't make sense. If they do, let me know and maybe we can work something out.

It just wouldnt make sense for me to trade him for Mitchell or Hemsky cuz both would get waived.

                    How about Barberio + 2018 5th + 2020 7th for 2018 3rd?

I was actually going to check back and see if you wanted to do Carr. He's already clear.
Not willing to use picks here, but Schlemko is out a little longer so I have more time to move a forward elsewhere, so it doesn't have to be Hemsky or Mitchell any more.

I was actually going to check back and see if you wanted to do Carr. He's already clear.
Not willing to use picks here, but Schlemko is out a little longer so I have more time to move a forward elsewhere, so it doesn't have to be Hemsky or Mitchell any more.

Im not sure how u feel about talking about this in November cuz i ran out of trades just now..

No problem. We can check the situation then.

How/why/what was that trade? A gazillion players and a pick for someone who is just getting thrown on waivers?

Essentially a contract dump because the dumping team is planning on making a big trade

Well for me it was taking decent contracts back + a pick. I might also be picking Comeau off of waivers so its a win-win for me and a win-win for him. I needed contracts just wasnt chasing it. Just so happened to pop up.

In November would you be intrested in Rocco Grimaldi (750K x 1yr RFA) along with Barberio?

                    New Jersey Devils

                    Ales Hemsky
                    Torrey Mitchell

                    Montreal Canadiens

                    Kevin Rooney
                    Bracken Kearns
                    6th round pick (WSH)

Gets rid of some cap space for you, as well as gives you a solid Prospect and a Enforcer like Kearns. Then tops it all off with a 6th round pick.

I am all out of trades for October but we can set one up for November.

Wasn't really looking to move both players, but we will see once next month rolls around.

Ok! Well I would easily take either one even if you don't want to get rid of both of them. I am most interested in Torrey Mitchell. But Hemsky is good too.

No thanks. Not considering moving Drouin.
