He will have to be the best version of himself versus the Boston Bruins and, at least, equal the performance of his counter part in the Bruins net. When he's on he's plenty athletic enough to make desperation saves. Above average quickness in all categories. Focus and preparation can range. Some issues have come to the surface however. His ability to track up and down the ice, at NHL pace, is being exposed at times. He's also not extending enough plays down low in the offensive zone when he has possession. More alarming is the fact, despite only averaging 7:49 TOI, he's a (-6). Monitor if he can have more impact overall. Including simple detail on and off the puck while playing to his physical identity. He can't be a liability defensively, or his role becomes less worthwhile. | His statistics remain strong. Both GAA and Save %. Late in the season (22/23) he has been playing only once a week (at best) and serving as the back-up. He's a young, developing goalie. He has time. Size continues to be attractive attribute. Big in the net. When he squares up shooters have little to look at. Rebound control ranges. When pucks spill off his body he can be exposed if having to scramble to make saves. At his best between the posts. Gloves have improved - finding more shots and catching them clean. | Klingberg has been average, at best, this season in Anaheim. Having said that he remains a target at the deadline for a team that is looking for an extra layer on their power-play. His 5vs5 defensive detail ranges wildly. He has looked disinterested at times. There is a ton of risk, in my opinion, in acquiring Klingberg. | A giant in the crease. His stature alone protects much of the net. Hybrid / Butterfly style. He plays his best when things are organized in front of him. Initial saves are not an issue when he is squared up properly and towards the middle/top of his crease. Second stops moving laterally are a bit lethargic. He's not real powerful moving side to side but he also has less distance to travel due to his width. Good gloves. Average playing the puck.
