Ducks finally get Capt Jack
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wagsnags</b></div><div>No worries then.... without either Zegras or the 1st Round Pick I do not see GM Adams moving Capt. Jack to the Ducks. I guess I just do not understand how terrible of a hockey player Jack Eichel is....</div></div>
It’s not about not understanding value of eichel, it’s understanding the ducks would never make that offer

My Seattle Kraken With Protection Lists
Minnesota protects Eriksson Ek over Greenway unless Greenway has a monster season and Eriksson Ek doesn't improve at all.
Goalies are a toss up. Talbot was signed for three years and Kahkonen is the 3rd goalie on the depth chart right now. Apparently a lot of scouts around the league don't think Kahkonen is a potential starting goalie at the NHL level, so if Minnesota management agrees, Talbot would be protected.
After that, I could see Seattle taking any of Greenway, Soucy, Kahkonen, depending on who other teams have exposed and what position is weakest. All three of these guys are viable picks, with Soucy being the best of the bunch and a defenseman, Greenway probably having the highest potential and certain qualities that you can't teach, and Kahkonen being a *potential* starting goalie (down the line, maybe like a Kuemper timeline).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheFlamingC</b></div><div>Why, he's 6 years older and Heinen has had similar production. Heinen is also progressing and Henrique is going backwards</div></div>
Because they still need veteran leadership and a reliable centre. Getz future is uncertain and Henrique is one of the best locker room guys you could have which are invaluable in rebuilds. The Ducks have a ton of guys in the mold of Heinen, but if Getz leaves or retires they need guys like Henrique. He also just had the second highest goal total of his career and might have set a new career best with a full season, he’s definitely not going backwards while Heinen has not been able to match his rookie season output. It isn’t even a debate that Henrique is the more valuable piece of the two

Okay well this makes it pretty clear you don't watch much of the Wild.

Isn’t worth the risk imo, Henrique would be a great guy for SEA to have and out of all the options that would be available from ANA he would easily be the guy they take

Ok... none of those guys are on ANA, If Henrique is exposed hes by far the best player to take from us

My Seattle Kraken With Protection Lists
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OlegP</b></div><div>That's not how it works!
Seattle wont take the best player form every team so your point is moot. They are building a team. They cant fit 29 regulars for one on the team. Yes, it matters what players are not on Anaheim as that effects the value of every desired position on the Kraken, Scarcity is a thing. Then again, you clearly haven't built an expansion team yet if you think Henrique is close to the best out there as a top2 center. Seattle can take maybe 2, 3 salaries over 5 million and they'll weaponize their cap space well before taking a player that is signed long term at 30 yrs of age with "leadership" like Henrique</div></div>
Having good centre depth is how teams are competitive. That’s basic team building. Even with the roster above that has Henrique and 30 players they still have over 7M in cap so the whole cap argument you are making is moot

Yes but look at the decline of the Ducks over those three years. Those are still really good numbers when you consider the team infront of him and both of those don’t change the fact he is by far the best back up available for a team that needed one. This is a great signing

If Dostal isn't ready yet, then this makes a ton of sense for ANA; I would trust Miller over Stolarz as the backup any day.

They still need a back up that can take pressure off Gibson this is a great signing. A top 15 back up in the league for 1M. How does it not make sense

Miller close to resigning Taxi Squad
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheJoeMan</b></div><div>Brendan Guhle has to pass through waivers and I feel like there's a good chance he gets claimed. Curran doesn't have to clear waivers and is completely unproven at this level so I would much rather he get parked in the minors or on the taxi squad in lieu of potentially losing Guhle (or Larsson for that matter). Welinski or Hakanpaa can chill out in San Diego until (if) we need them. I'm sick of losing young d-men that we've developed just to see them finally flourish with other teams. I'm not holding my breath that Curran is fit for this level. 31 year-old rookies don't happen on accident.</div></div>
Guhle hasnt proven anything, in fact he's proven he cant even beat out Larsson and Djoos for a roster spot. I doubt he gets claimed and if he does it isnt the end of the world. Curran is being paid 1M even if he's in the minors, That can't be overlooked and with the reduced income for an already low income team that is also paying Corey Perry 6.6M this season to not play for them, and Ryan Kesler I would be shocked if Curran isnt on the NHL roster, and he plays on the right side which none of Djoos, Larsson and Guhle do.
Curran has been great in europe and fits on the third pair, If Guhle had a long term spot moving forward with us he would have a spot no question. Between Larsson, Djoos, Guhle, Mahura, Thurn, Lacombe we're bound to lose at least one of them somehow. Guhle isnt an NHLer at this point and just because he's young doesnt mean he should be given a shot
