Give Granlund a chance
Pens take it and run, and also put you on speed dial.

I think so too, but Newhook might be a bit too much.

I absolutely agree, but the team is at such a point where this is becoming something to think about, even if for a second.

With Kap gone

That’d be preferable.
Chances are they’ll hire Benning or someone like that.
Liverpool FC fan here (also FSG owned) and have no faith in that part of ownership.

With Kap gone
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brgh4life</b></div><div>I'd rather just pay to dump McGinn. With Kap gone they have some good space for free agency this summer. If they can move McGinn too that's almost 6 mill freed up for next season we didn't have a few days ago.</div></div>
I agree, but Pitt’s free agency record in the last several summers has been absolutely rubbish. Kap, Carter (not really FA but anyway), McGinn, JJ.
Although an offer sheet on Zegras would spice things up, and currently they have the picks. Monahan might be interesting.
Wouldn’t mind if they went for Sundqvist but Detroit is in the same spot Pitt is in.

Prospect pool blows, I’d personally just revise to get Sturm and call it a day.

Appreciate that, thanks.

A bit of steel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JSEB93</b></div><div>I like the creativity and see where you're going, just not sure these moves really would have any significant impact on making the team better. Ritchie is a downgrade from Kap. Dickinson is better than Carter, but now you have Carter on the 4th line which is a downgrade from Blueger. Seems like a wash at best imo</div></div>
It is - my hope would actually be that Poehling plays 4c over Carter, who would shift to wing/face off duty.
I guess the making the team better is a best guess - if Ritchie can hang on the 2nd line, perhaps Rust can shift to 3RW, which would be significant. But a lot of hope. Also, if you have a bruiser with Malkin he can stay out of the muck.

Would love to move Kapanen, he’s been ok lately, but not 3.2 m ok. Doubt STL would take him.
Would be interested in values on Vejmelka given that the goalie market is weird to say the least.

Meier
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>While Meier is a better player than Guentzel, it's not by that much that this makes PIT leaps and bound better, this is very Linear like Toronto trading Nylander for Meier.
and this doesn't help the sharks at all really. trading Meier triggers a rebuild.
Is the value fair? i would say so, but is it what the sharks would be looking for? no.</div></div>
I think you’re probably right.

Cheers - don’t think that would really do it, and likely that’s the best Pitt could do to get him. If VAN wants a stud young center, Pens don’t have it.

Should They Consider Adding Grit Physicality And Size
I've thought for a while that Anderson would look good for Pitt.
I liked Reaves on this team more than many here. If memory serves correct I don't think he's been scratched much on more successful team.
So in many words, yes to more grit, and size too.

Pitt fans I need input
I'd love to see Hyman with Sid, but I doubt you'd want to give him up. If you wanted Rust that's probably where I'd start.
Simon for a pick.
Hornquist...well I'd be very interested in how the Leads might pursue that. Kapanen would be nice.
McCann for Kapanen I would do.
