Blockbuster draft day
Don't think Hextall gives up Myers and Gudas and Sanheim plus two draft picks just for Gaudreau...pass

Draft picks are nice, but not sure Shinkaruk is enough to entice Yzerman to bite. He may want a more productive younger player back. Grubauer trade is a gamble (similar to Talbot), but definitely a risk worth taking given the goalie market right now.

Contending
Like the Iginla signing, but I think ARZ would want a young player who is closer to the NHL for OEL. That a first would be reasonable, in my opinion. But trade foundation is there.

Gaudreau / Brodie Trades
Gaudreau trade wouldn't be terrible for either side, but not sure CGY would do it. Is the Drouin move enough value/cap compliant for either side? Wouldn't want Lehner as he is a headcase and not worth #12. If you move Brodie, I would rather keep Kylington or vice versa. Also, don't know if Ron Francis will move Gauthier just yet.

Bruins/Avs Blockbuster
If you are talking Landy or Duchene, then you are getting close, but COL would want another young forward/D in return and even a draft pick.

Possible Hanafin deal
I'm not so sure CAR will move Hanifin, unless they could land a young player who is the same age. With the d prospects Boston has coming up, not sure Hanifin is even needed for right now.

Agreed. Zborl could fulfill the Avs Dman criteria, but COL would require another forward prospect for sure.

Pressuring TB with Drouin offer sheet + Chuky trade at Expansion draft
I'd like to see Coyle and Galchenyuk down the middle or moved to wing, but you have to give up value to get it I guess. Shaw trade is a bit of a wash but foundation is there for both the Galchenyuk move.

Pacioretty for Hischier?
We don't have that much cap and Pacioretty wouldn't be enough for #2. You would need to send a Galchenyuk or another FORWARD prospect., since we have enough D and goaltending like you mentioned. If there is a logjam at forward, #2 will get sent to juniors, plain and simple. After the playoff run Patches had, his value will not match #2.
Philly is hardly a team for right now. The core may be in its prime, but we lack an elite goaltender, a top 2 dman, and reliable scoring depth. So I would pass on the deal as you have it presented now.

Couturier for Galchenyuk
Not giving up Rubtsov for Galchenyuk. MTL essentially has a TWF in Plek and needs mores goal scoring. Couturier is a decent playmaking TWF, but I don't think he solves MTL offensive issues.
I feel like more would have to be included for both sides in order for this to work out.

Price: Sign and Trade
Another Price trade for Simmonds that I don't think Hextall will do in addition with the #2 pick. Would need a draft pick coming back and I would rather hold onto Ghost (don't know much about Beaulieu).
If Price re-signs, then I think we would be a playoff team. Regardless, tough to justify sending your best player within the same conference unless you are completely rebuilding.

Price Trade #2
Hextall won't pull that trade off, especially if Price doesn't sign first and maybe a first coming back the other way. It's possible that Philly pulls a Patrick Roy circa 1996 and lets Carey play out in Philly (if he were to resign). I wouldn't hate that, and would be tough to see Simmer go, but I doubt it would happen with the prospects we have in net. More unlikely now that Bishop is off the market (as of now).

COL would most likely want Sergachev going the other way. Not sure how much McCarron is worth, but may not be what COL is looking for.

Taking advantage of expansion
Trade for Henrique just to flip? Does NJD even want to move him? Not sure the trade value is even in NJD trade. Are you willing to move Sergachev without seeing what he brings? I know ANA needs to make a move but not sure if I'd send Sergachev the other way; ANA may seek more offense.

Would cap even work for CHI? Assuming CHI would need to make other moves to accommodate Pacioretty even after moving Panarin and Anisimov. Panarin and Galchenyuk would be nice.

Duchene for Glachenyuk 1 for 1 wouldn't go through and don't think Chucky should be given up on for another lackluster player in Duchene. I still think NJD would require more for Kovalchuk.

Trade Carey Price
No way Hextall makes that trade. Couturier isn't going anywhere and #2 isn't being moved (even if, let's say, Price agreed to resign). Enough prospects on the back end/goal that we don't need an older goalie who may walk in free agency, while effectively trading away a future 1c.
Are you signing and trading for Fleury? Thought he is a UFA? Also, not enough value for NJD for Kovie.
Holmgren and his predecessors would make trade, but not Hextall.

2018 Draft Tavares for Price
Agreed. Not enough for DET to bite. If Tavares is traded, a) it couldn't be a one for one, b) depending on who he is traded for, NYI may shift to an overhaul/rebuild., while younger guys come up.

NJD may want more assets that can help right now. I am unsure if swapping Duchene for Galchenyuk is what the Canadiens need but Bergevin may be desperate enough to do something like that.

NJD might require more than the pieces you have. WSH has plenty of defensemen, but foundation for a trade is there. Do you think Bergevin wants to be saddled with Hossa's contract ramifications? Add three years of Jumbo Joe and Kovie/Ovie and salary cap might be an issue with Price coming up next season.

I like your creativity lol. No way Jagr, Marleau, Thornton should be signed for three years, even if they retire at one point. Isn't Nichuskin in the KHL now? Poor return for Price and doubtful the trade values for SJS and CAR trades are even.

Not bad. Do you think WSH would want a little more? Like a 1st plus another prospect? Ovie needs to waive NTC too, no? Thornton and Ovie would be dangerous if Jumbo can still hold down that No.1 pivot spot.
Do you think Bergevin makes a play for Kovalchuk?
