Rakell And Manson Return
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pattymelt47</b></div><div>If Manson is only getting 2 years, he'll likely require a much higher AAV
The Henrique deal is a tough one. Pitt would have to be very desperate to take on his contract, and they'd still be giving up a lot. Plus, from a Ducks perspective, Terry played his best when on a line with Henrique and this trade would leave the Ducks very young at center with little to no insurance.
Why not bring back Elvenes?</div></div>
Elvenes already told the Ducks he was leaving and that he would be playing overseas.

Rakell And Manson Return
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GeneralLandro</b></div><div>Manson, Marchment, Bura are all nice adds I like while Rakell, ZAR, and the Gardiner trade are no thank yous to me
I think I may rather try getting a Brock Boeser possibly to play where Rakell is
Kapanen is making too much as well</div></div>
ZAR is an elite defensive forward who could be detrimental to the Ducks penalty kill going forward. I think re-signing him is pretty realistic and $2.3 million AAV for 4 years is a steal. The Gardiner trade essentially gives the Ducks defenseman in Ethan Bear who is still pretty young and a free 2nd for one year of Jake Gardiner, and older dman in Kevin Shattenkirk who might not even play well this coming season, and an injury risk Max Jones who’s more of a liability at this point. I honestly don’t know how the Ducks say no to a trade like this if it’s offered to them unless more can be added going the Ducks way. As for Rakell, that I can agree could not happen at all, but I don’t think bringing him back would be terrible. He’s familiar with the system, he still has plenty of good years left, and it just feels like a direction that Verbeek would want to go if presented to him. As for Kapanen, I really don’t know what a good number for him is but I’m sure he’ll make at least a little bit more than his last contract regardless.

Because by then Drew Helleson should be ready and if all goes according to plan his ceiling is Josh Manson 2.0, but a better skater and a slightly better knack for offense.

Comtois turns 24 in the middle of this coming season and has scored 0.45 ppg in a career of 146 games. He's also taller and weighs 25 pounds more than Bjork, hits a lot more, and has more snarl -- he had more penalty minutes last year (abbreviated by injury) than Bjork has in his entire career.</div></div>
To be fair Bob Murray would’ve probably done this trade if he were still around. 😂

Buffalo has to hit the cap floor more than any other team in the league so they’ll be overpaying for guys big time. Besides, it’s only for two years which would be more than enough time to let whatever defensemen they draft develop (I see the Sabres leaning heavily on drafting right handed defensemen in this upcoming draft).

Let’s be real though, if they still see themselves as a Stanley Cup contender despite the loses, this is probably the most likely route they take out of stubbornness. As long as they have Sidney Crosby, they probably remain stubborn as Crosby will not accept a rebuild as long as he’s around.

Fiala is gonna ask for a lot and the Wild just won’t be able to give him what he wants. It’ll especially affect them in the coming years when they have to re-sign even more of their guys. Also, iirc there is somewhat of a disconnect between the Wild and Fiala right now as Fiala has been in all kinds of trade rumors for awhile now.

Jonathan Quick Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>I think that your math is off.
The Kings have just under $30 million committed to 9 forwards for next season, just over $18.5 million to 5 defensemen, and $10.8 million to the two goalies. That's $59.3 million, which leaves $22 million to the current cap ceiling of $81.5 million. Assume that Kempe gets $5.25 million, Anderson $3.5 million, Durzi $2.5 million, Lemieux $1.75 million and Grundstrom $1.5 million. That leaves $7.5 million for two players to fill out a 23-man roster, and they can be filled by two ELC guys (like Turcotte) coming up from Ontario. But even assuming we sign or acquire an expensive LD or forward, there's plenty of money in the bank even if my estimations are conservative (like, a million low on each of the three big re-signs).
P.S. I forgot about the Phaneuf and Richards dead cap totaling $2 million, but I think my point still holds.</div></div>
I also factored Olli Maatta into this. He had a major bounce back year this year and I think he gets about $4.5 million if the Kings re-sign him, which I believe they will do.

Jonathan Quick Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>The idea of trading Jonathan Quick is heretical, and trading him for junk would be a sin.</div></div>
The Kings have to sign Anderson, Durzi, Grundstrom, Lemieux, Kempe, and Maatta this offseason and I expect 4 of the names mentioned to get paid a moderate amount, PLUS they have just over $6.1 million worth of dead cap when factoring in Dion Phaneuf’s buyout fee, Mike Richards’ termination fee, and the amount of bonuses that have to be paid combined. All of this will completely wipe out the Kings cap space and if they keep Quick, they will be over the cap. Hence why I think they trade him to take on Brett Connolly and then they flip Connolly elsewhere in a cap dump type deal.

He’s had a better season this year than the last couple of years. Also, he’s still way better than what they have now and no quality free agent goalie is gonna want to come to Chicago considering the current state of their team. Quick doesn’t have any kind of no trade or no movement clause either so quite frankly he’s their best option.

Dahlen is a question mark for sure. I think Reimer can be moved without retaining salary and still get at least a 5th. I'd also move Simek. If the Sharks are just doing everything to shed cap space, trade Labanc and Hill as well. Call up a cheaper back up goalie.</div></div>
The big problem is that the things that they SHOULD do won’t happen as long as Doug Wilson is the GM. He still believes that the Sharks are a contender and refuses to realize that the window has closed. Had he realized that, Hertl would have been traded like he should’ve been.

With him, it can go either way. I can see it being a situation where he earns a 9 game trial out of camp, but shows that he needs just a bit more refinement with one more strong year in the WHL, but I can also see him making it full time. I think if he doesn’t make it next season, he’ll definitely make it the season after that.
