Offer sheet Laine
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tavahews</b></div><div>Would you really pay laine 10 mill plus lose 4 first round picks</div></div>
It would be two 1st’s, 2nd and a 3rd. The Wings already have an extra 2nd/3rd and might be able to replace a couple picks at the deadline. Winnipeg would probably match but if not the Wings get a 21 year old 30+ goal scorer.

Hopeful off-season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>Looking at the Wings young center prospects and the lack of solid D an Athanasiou+ for Trouba trade just makes too much sense for both teams.
Trouba,Hronek and Cholowski would anchor the Wings defense for the next 7-8 years, would be set on the back end.</div></div>
Or you can keep AA and move him back to wing and Sign Krug and Possibly Trouba next year in free agency. Although I think Trouba may want to go to Florida so trading for him with 1 year left makes no sense.

Hirose in 1 game has more production than Svechnikov has in his nhl career. With the cap going up that’s going to be the open market price for a guy like Holtby. 6 mil for Mantha is going to happen lol.

Hopefull deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BizNasty2PointO</b></div><div>What would it cost for just Jensen?</div></div>
2nd round pick at least. Buying in bulk nets a discount.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wojo</b></div><div>I'm a wings fan and I really have gotten off the "trade as many players as possible" bus. Jensen and Howard will resign on fair deals, and LGD isn't making that much. Nyquist should really be the only one moved as it stands now, unless some team will take Daley. And that's still only if you can net at least a 2nd plus prospect or another pick. We have a lot of picks and have a logjam on defense in GR, with a couple potential top-6 wings only a year or two away (Veleno, Zadina).</div></div>
Howard would end up resigning in the offseason anyways even after a trade. Like you said there is already a logjam in GR you gotta make room by getting rid of Jenson/Kronwall. Like it or not we’re stuck with Ericsson/DeKeyser. We are rebuilding and need as many draft picks we can get our hands on

Trouba Trade

A. Winninpeg has been having a hard time trying to re-sign Trouba.
B. Mantha helps their offense right away.
C. Trouba is 24 he would be the future in Detroit.

Staying competitive/ draft moving
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ruahone</b></div><div>Man, can you explain WHY would Kovy come back to the NHL only to sign with a team that has absolutely no chance of winning the cup?? He's not going to sign with any team that can't compete. Options are Kings, Blues or some other team with the space to get him for a few years. It's not gonna be Arizona, Rangers and surely not the Wings that sign him.</div></div>
Well simply enough to have a choice where you wanna go at the deadline. I would definitely expect a NTC to be added to the deal so he would have the best chance at landing with the right team.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KeepingItChill</b></div><div>Cane fans would hate this. You just don't **** with top 3 picks, even when the other team is giving a "fair deal". Canes would be asking for people to overpay the hell for the pick, which would mean any offer would be suicide. I see 99 universes where Carolina drafts Svech/Zadina, and 1 where they trade it.</div></div>
Probably not but 99.9% of the **** posted on this site will never happen either.

How do we add a young defensive Top-6 prospect to the wings? Don’t see that in your plans... unless you plan to draft. We should give as much minutes as possible and sign some other Expiring RFA Defensemen</div></div>
I have them drafting K’Andre Miller, Calen Addison and Filip Johansson with a first and 2 second round picks.

Yeah but what about a new GM? That trade would have been on draft day. But then again I had to change the original trade idea do to a fail by me.

But what if they don’t? Are you gonna keep Green?

New GM shake up
1. What if a team does not want to give up a first round pick for Green? It’s nice to like a first round pick but it doesn’t mean a team is willing to give up a first round pick especially when teams know that the Wings HAVE to move him.
2. Why would it matter how much money we kept on Mrazek? It’s only for the rest of the season it would have no effect on the off-Season.
3. Zetterberg does not have a NMC or a NTC on his contract. You can move him without asking him. It sucks to let him go but it’s a buisness.
4. AA will not be a Red Wing in 2018. He is going to command too much money for his skill set its wise to let him go. Dekeyser is trash and even though Barrie is shaky he is still better than any other Red wing defenseman.

They are bridge deals. none of the 3 have shown enough to get an offer sheet for more. Is it possible yes but I think cheaper bridge deals will be In play. As for Sheahan If he has a 10-12 goal / 30 point year I think Holland very well will give Sheahan 3.5 mil. Look at his track record...

Why not? Only 2 years left on Kruger's deal which if you have to you can bury some of it his final year. You get a bottom 4 Defenseman for the future and also draft picks. This trade sums up a rebuild on the fly.

What do you guys think?
The Problem is Howard is nearly impossible to move. Plus you have to retain money for two years. Trading Mrazek gives you value plus you get to protect Coreau.

Red Wings rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rangersandislesfan</b></div><div>I, myself, don't think that gets them Tavares ... i really don't think Detroit has what it would take to acquire him ...</div></div>
It may cost them an extra pick or prospect like a Givani Smith or a Filip Hronek. But I think the guideline of a top 10 pick, another 1st round pick, a future 2nd round pick and a high level prospect/Nhl ready player is about the average return for a player that could leave In free agency a year later.
