Zegras on the other hand hasn't been mishandled, and has been mostly healthy his career save for the minor injury this season. He's not a distressed asset, so it'll cost a lot more to acquire.</div></div>
2 mid 1st 2025 and Barron ?

I'd rather keep the top 10 pick. Kovacevic > Savard when you factor in their cap hits.

the injury this year is a freak injury unrelated to his old ones though. if it was his wrist now it'd be worrying, tho the injury he got is still worrying lmao
prob a top 12 pick, 2nd and one of Farrell or Harris/Struble.

Canes pass. Freddie was cleared before Christmas. He's currently seeking a second opinion to make sure everything's okay, but he will return before the end of the year. Knowing that, he's also WAY better than Jake Allen. Pick's going the wrong way

Dallas doesn’t have the cap space to take Savard’s full contract, probably have to take Faksa in return to make the money work. Which is fine for Montreal because Evans has looked good at 3c and while Faksa is overpaid he is a very capable 4c.
Mony should net a late 1st or equivalent, Kovacevic may net a late 2nd or equivalent prospect and although it’d be great to see Allen unretained bring back a third, it may be a little too optimistic but hey I could be wrong.

great two-way center, and a quality scorer, playing with 2 big youngsters should help!

That’s fair. I think the Rangers could use Armia this year tho which is part of the reason I asked for him, and then buy him out

I don’t hate it, but I’d rather just have Laine and not add even more defensive prospects to an already crowded pool.

I don't think this is a playoffs team, but they are heading in the right direction
The problem last season was not the dman (outside Edmundson & Wideman who were horrible)
MTL lack offense big time, and the only line who did something was the Caufield-Suzuki-Dach line
This is much more balance up front

Buffalo easy pass, we don't trade Levi. And we have a lot of space in the cap, so retain is pointless.

Which players Habs should choose at the 5th overall pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlafCaufZuki</b></div><div>It's simple.
We can all agree that Bedard, Fantilli and Carlsson will be gone by 5. Michkov SHOULD be gone by 5, but if some GMs buy into the Russian scare, he could drop. If he's there at 5, he's a must pick. He's one of the most skilled players the draft has seen in years, you'd be crazy to not take him at 5 if you're the Habs, a team that needs more elite talent desperately.
If Michkov goes top 4. You take either Will Smith or Zach Benson. I think Benson is a bit better overall, but he's small and Smith is a better fit for the Habs. So I'd be really happy with either of them.
Picking players like Reinbaucher or Dvorsky over Smith or Benson would be a disaster in my opinion. We need to go for talent and upside.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Big_Papa20</b></div><div>If Michkov is there I’m for it. I’m willing to wait and Bobrov is close to the situation so if Smith is gone I don’t think it’s far fetched</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyIsMyPassion61</b></div><div>Michkov if he falls to 5th, Or Will Smith with his connections to Kent Hughes.</div></div>
Agree with all, if Michkov is avalable at 5th, I will take him.
My second choice will be Smith.
