Did not want him for free a couple days ago, now we’ll give up a pick for him. Seems logical.

Roster I would love to see
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Timmah007</b></div><div>I’m not sure what bears value would be suggest it’s less than what us oilers fans would like to think. In this scenario I REALLY like the nurse Barrie pairing if can keep together for 2-3 years I see as a bigger threat than nurse bear pairing. Both Barrie and bear are prone to mistakes but from my eye Barrie follows his mistakes up properly bear is still prone to compound the mistakes. Also I’ve seen numerous horrendous line changes from bear. I love bear which does upset me to make the odd man out it’s a tough decision.
Kassian I would have agreed is valuable to this team however that player has been missing since he signed that extension and I think archie has been bringing the physical presence while providing smarter hockey than seen of kassian over the past year.</div></div>
Bear is young. All young players make mistakes. Up until this year Mcdavid and draisaitls defensive advanced stats have been bottom 20 in the league. There is a less then 10 percent chance Barrie resigns. He was already due for a raise and took a prove it deal with Edmonton. Bear plays way better defense then Barrie. By next year when Klefbom is back we won’t need an offensive power play guy. Keeping Bear is better in the long run.

hall and more
Huge over pay for Hall. He's no where near the player he "was" when that previous trade happened. It was an overpay then and even more now.
Keumper isn't worth close to that. He can't seem to stay healthy.
Barrie is second in the league in scoring for D. Will Savard keep more pucks out of EDM more then Barrie will contribute putting pucks into the other teams net?
Either way, Holland said he's looking for a vet top6F

I agree a huge over pay for Mantha. Holloway is going to be a stud and is a Holland draft pick do no way he trades him.

Up arrows for sure, but he has yet to play a pro game of hockey.
ATO in BAK after his NCAA season ends, then sign his ELC next year. Just like Holland did with Larkin.</div></div>
i think holloway starts next season in bakersfield then comes up after christmas. He's not quite full grown yet and he needs to be to play his style of game in the NHL.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>IMO Lagesson is competing with Russell more than Jones.</div></div>
I think Tippett's preferred 2nd pairing is Lagesson-Larsson. The others fight for the remaining 2 Spots when he's in.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BornInAGretzkyJersey</b></div><div>What does that even mean?
Smith has been lights out since he came back off injury and before that Koskinen started like 12 games in a row and acquitted himself about as well as Carey Price.</div></div>
All I’m saying is that Koskinen & Smith haven’t been known for their consistency, so when Smith falls back to earth they have other options. With 3 goalies there’s a better chance that at least 1 of them has the hot hand at any point.
I’m not trying to make fun of the Oilers, I say this as a person who is cheering for the Oilers (except when they’re playing the habs :p).

Agreed. He's probably a good add for the Oilers, but I don't think Yz would sell low on him. Samo is a good prospect and all, but I'm assuming that they'd be pushing pretty hard for a young fwd like Yam back, which, payroll-wise, probably isn't super wise for the Oil, given that they've got other holes to fill.

Please Ken
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eberles_Backcheck</b></div><div>25 - 30 quality goalies? And who exactly are those? Can you name your Top 10??
Realistically. I can't see Rask Binnington, Grubauer reaching UFA... They are all on contending teams. They will re sign.
So who are you targetting after that? You're not signing a 38 year old Rinne, Dubnyk isn't coming here.
Your main options are Anderson (do you want do commit long term to a 31 year old Anderson?) Driedger (my preference) Raanta (injury troubles) and Ullmark (I don't mind this) and maybe Mrazek.
Am I missing the other 20 goalies you're thinking of?</div></div>
Since the Oilers need a guy to play about 40% of the schedule and not a "bona-fide starter", I would have some time for an older goalie if he's performing well still. Smith has been outstanding so far, and we know Holland has no compunction signing older goalies, so don't write off guys like Rinne, Elliott or Halak just due to age.
That said, it would be nice to get a younger guy who can transition into a larger role and maybe platoon with Koskinen / Konovalov / Rodrigue going forward. Ullmark would be my target, not sure what his actual market value is but his CF-AGM value seems to be around $3M x 3 and I would have no issue signing him to that. Driedger has gaudy numbers but he hasn't played much hockey, so I'd be a bit wary of him. But on a cheap deal (<$2M) for 1-2 years, I'd give him a shot at the 1B job in Edmonton IF Konovalov was signed and playing in Bakersfield. That way, if Driedger doesn't transition well, there's another competent backup with professional experience waiting in the wings.
But ideally it would be Koskinen-Ullmark for 21-22, then if Konovalov is tearing the cover off the ball in AHL you could move to Ullmark-Konovalov in 2022-23 and save nearly $4M.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>reelkena</b></div><div>I watched him play. He panicked a ton, turned the puck over and looked lost. Probably saw 10 games last season. Maybe that's not enough but I know I don't want him. Looked like Tyler Myers out there.
Edit: I checked his numbers. Last seasons numbers were not great even if his relative is ok. This season is 9 games which isn't enough for me.</div></div>
Lmao panicked a ton? The guy can move the puck, he's honestly one of Edmonton's better puck movers. You clearly have no clue what you're talking about.
